The Power of Loss and Second Chances
I have Lost My Way is a book written about 3 characters, all so young in age that feel like there is nothing left in life after they suffer great loss in their personal life. Sometimes we can lose something, not because a person dies, but because of circumstances and this is the problem a lot of people in this world feel. This author has taken the opportunity to write this book and I personally feel like it was a gift for me to read it, and can be for others as well, no matter what age we may be. This book is listed as young adult but I think it has something to say to all of us, no one has gone through their lives without feeling losses, and the repercussions. This book tells the story of 3 people, Freya a young girl who has lost her voice while trying to put out her debut album; Harun who is gay and has lost his first boyfriend, and he comes from a background that is impossible to understand him; and Nathaniel who has lost his father and gone to New York City with his backpack, little money and no plans. This book takes place all in one day, however each character fills in what their life has been like and what it is now, and how they come together in the same place right at the same time, not because they know each other but because it is fate. After losing love, finding love and discovering who you are, all of them and being thrown together somehow, this is a story about finding someone besides yourself feeling the same way and having the ability to look past their own lives to help another. I gave this book 5***** stars and am so glad I read this book!

Started out reading this on my Kindle, then bought the Audible version
Beautifully and sensitively written story of 3 lost souls, from very different backgrounds, coming together accidentally to make each other whole. The narration was excellent and authentic, performed by 3 different people. The protagonists were well developed and the narrative kept my interest as it built towards the climax of events which happened during the course of one day.I started out reading this on my Kindle, then bought the Audible version and enjoyed it more. This book may be classified as YA, but it has a general appeal to any human being. And it has a pretty song at the end.I can see this being made into a good movie!I would definitely read more from this author.

Touching
What an incredible story!I’ve always enjoyed any book I’ve read by Gayle Forman. This one really surprised me. I felt very connected to each character and their plight. I enjoyed how the book was written from all 3 perspectives. It definitely gave me a chance to really get to know each of them. Of course, I’m hoping she might write another book because I always hope that when she gives us these beautiful endings that leave a character’s future to our imagination, she also decides to tell us where they are now. This was a diverse story that touched on topics of importance, cultural differences and what it’s like to be in the spotlight. I don’t want to give anything away. I highly recommend this contemporary YA fiction to any and everyone. I certainly feel like I was lost as well but I was found in these pages too.Enjoy and Happy Reading ♥️📚♥️

Rambling on and on
The author told the story in such a rambling way I became bored. I usually love her books but this one was too disorganized and rambling. It was really hard to get into and the characters were hollow.

Box of Tissues Needed
To anyone who has lost their way, who has had thoughts they knew were not their own, who has soul-searched and still come up empty, this book is for you. This book reopened old wounds for me, but applied a gentle balm, almost like breaking a bone that never quite healed correctly and resetting it. There is a healing in these stories.

Loved this book!
This was a great book! I loved the characters and how they barely knew each other, but were there for each other!

Very Unbelievable with a forced plot
The plot was very contrived, and the ending very abrupt.

Well written It's actually for young adults but we chose it as our summer book club read. Thought provoking. will probably lead to interesting discussions when we meet this week.

I normally love this author's books but this one HAS lost its way
I love Gayle Forman's writing but this book was a bit of a disappointment for me. It would have been better if she had focused on one character's viewpoint - preferably Freya. I found the Harun storyline quite unengaging - it is really such a cliché and the outcome is so predictable. It's worth noting that all her previous books have stuck to one's character's perspective and she is nowhere near as good at juggling multiple viewpoints. The books feels far too short and all the storylines feel unresolved by the end. Not really worth what I paid for it.

Nice but predictable
I read this book without realising it was for young adults! It was an enjoyable read, with some important themes, but a touch saccharine.

Good, but a little bland
It wasn't a bad book, but wasn't very well developed. The characters friendships were lovely but the whole thing felt unfinished and not full.
