Pea Flakes - A Special Treat for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters and Small Pets, 4 oz. Bag

My kids and I have really enjoyed using these treats with our 2 guinea pigs. At first, neither guinea was really interested, but as I worked with them over a couple of “wheeks”(lol), building anticipation with the bag crinkling, etc, they slowly began to try the pea flakes. Now, they know and beg for these wheeky peas every time I enter the room! We have loved being able to see their cute little faces (and precious peeg lips!) as they await eagerly for their treats each day! Some of the pieces are smaller than I imagined they would be, but it hasn’t been a problem since they are are so eager to enjoy.

I put a pinch in my hands and the gerbils can’t get enough! In the beginning, the 1 gerbil got so upset that I stopped feeding her more of these in the 1 sitting. Became almost frantic. She has since calmed down.At one point she ate a flake so fast that she started to gag a bit. She wasn’t choking or anything but I think maybe a piece got on the back of her throat or something; she later got the piece with her nail.I give a pinch of these to the girls every other day or so. Big hit!

It's not for everyone, since the other 2 guinea pigs didn't like it as much. But they eventually all loved it out of fear of missing out. I do not understand it, but our guinea pig Smores LOVES this to death. She will jump out of our arms to have some pea flakes. Smores is often in love with food, but not THIS crazy. We use Wheeky Peas as a treat anytime we need her to do something.Smores will visibly freak out after hearing the sound of the bag opening from yards away. She will nonstop lick our hands after we feed her Wheeky Peas just to make sure she gets every last particle. Even then, she will keep licking our hands in desperation for more. She will climb every surface to get to the pea flakes. We cannot even open the bag and reach in before she charges off of our laps in attempt to face plant in the Wheeky Pea bag.

My pigs love these! Giving them a flake a few times a day has encouraged bonding, and they wheak like crazy when they hear the bag. My only issue is that many pieces are really small and these are definitely not flattened peas. They look more like purees peas that were dried.

Always on the lookout for good treats for our very picky pig. Getting her to eat her pellets has been a struggle since she is a tubby girl who prefers snacks, grass, and hay over pellets.I tried to make these at home with a recipe I found online but they are not as easy as I thought.These are perfect!!! I put some in with her pellets and now she eats both. She’ll eat pellets while rooting around for her flakes! I’ll be getting these from now on!

So these pea flakes aren’t at all what I was thinking, possibly my fault for not throughly reading the description but I assumed they’d be the round normal pea flakes.They’re not. They’re basically like the size of seasoning, if you were to season something with pea flakes lol.My piggies didn’t get excited for these AT ALL 3 out of 3 didn’t even eat them, it’s a shame.

My pigs will not touch it. Not actual peas. Pea puree pieces. They will know the difference

My girls love pea flakes but these are so thin it’s hard to feed them one at a time and control how much they get. But they go crazy when they see me pick up the box with the flakes in them. The ones from the pet store are thicker, but come with the dried carrots and my girls don’t like dried carrots. This is far better value since I’m not wasting carrots. All pea flakes all day.
