Steck Manufacturing 21890 Skin Zipper Door Skinning Tool
A**8
Worked for my 69 Camaro
I bought this as I was replacing door skins on my 69 camaro. However, it does not work as advertised considering the metal for older cars are thicker than modern. I ended up first using a hammer and dolly to lay down the metal and then used this tool with a $15 harbor freight air hammer to smoothen everything out. The result was perfect and I ended up finishing it off with a few welds. And as an FYI, the YouTube video I followed did the same thing but he finished his off with a fancier more expensive air tool to smoothen the door skin folds. So it all worked out at the end.

It worked for the trunk skin I needed to replace
There should be some instructions on how to use it properly, for the most part it did great however on some of the tricky curves of a 57 Chevy trunk skin I must not have had it level and put some deep grooves on the outside. 100% user error on my part , but some sort of instructions might have prevented that

Works EXACTLY as advertised!
It took less than 2 minutes (seriously) if that to apply the new skin to my old door. Actually it was a skin from a donor door so it wasn't perfectly straight but that didn't matter. This tool (once you get the hang of it) made short work of the job and was actually fun. I found it helpful to pinch the skin in the center of both sides and on the bottom to ensure it stayed square as the skinning process is quite forceful. If you have to install a door skin, don't think twice. If you have to REMOVE a door skin, that's a whole other story.

will buy again and again great tool
Did 6 service truck door skins 18 gauge & 1/8" steel. tool is worn now but still usable. People who say they wont do thicker panels dont know how to finesse the tool or have a long stroke hammer. The thinner steel is definitely easier but it does thicker. Saved so much time compared to dolly and hammer. Steal has a few door left in it maybe 10 total but remember i did thick steel doors and it wore it down faster. Worth every dime.

Works awesome
Great product. Full time body man of many years here and flat rate. This works great. They say it last ten skins which I'm not sure about, I'd say more like five but it's worth it for the money and you can put a skin on in literally minutes. I turned my air hammer down to its lowest setting and it worked great. Barely any marks on the outside and much quicker than a hammer and dolly

This surprised me for $20
I bought this just to try it before I got a more expensive door skin tool. I have used it twice and it actually works pretty good. It's fast and no filler so far. It tends to get stuck so a little dry lube helps a lot. Hey, for twenty bucks, what more could you ask for. Hint, watch the DVD that is included and you should have good luck.
