JLab J6MS JBuds Stereo to Mono in-Ear Single Earbud, Style Headset with Enterprise Class Microphone, 3.5mm Headphone Jack, Black

I've been on a quest to find the right earbuds for running and this is my 7th set. I decided to try a single earbud because I'd like to be able to hear what's going on around me when I'm running and it's difficult with a standard pair of earbuds. This earbud is amazing. It is the most comfortable I've used. It has numerous cushions (7 I think) to find just the right fitment. The earbud itself is small and very comfortable. I was able to find a cushion that allowed the earbud to fit snuggly without being uncomfortable. The sound is fantastic and there's no external noise or "whooshing" in the ear with the earbud. The cord is about 6" shorter than I would like, but it's not a deal-breaker. The button works well and I can play/pause/skip my music on my Android phone. I haven't tried the mic yet. The only difficult part (which is not the fault of the earbud) is simply getting used to sound coming from one ear instead of both. In just a few days, it doesn't seem strange and I expect in a few more days it will seem perfectly normal. To clarify a point about the earbuds (this was confirmed with JLabs): The earbuds DO play stereo sound through the single earbud. It combines both channels into the single earbud. I assumed that was the case, but the description was unclear so I asked before purchasing. The sound really is fantastic. One of the best purchases I've made. Now I just hope they hold up to the abuse of running 4-5 times/week. Update after a LONG time of usage: I have come to depend on these earbuds. I use them multiple times a day for audio/video conferences as well as music and videos. I've gone through 3 pairs ONLY because I accidentally misplaced them. I am obsessive about my earbuds, but it has happened. I've always replaced the exact model just fine. However, when this happened a few weeks ago, Amazon indicated they were no longer available. I was crushed, but ultimately thought... they are just earbuds. I researched a ton and ordered a different brand. Ugh. Awful. All kinds of sounds from it wiggling in my ear regardless of what size cushion I tried. Button was crap. I looked on Amazon again to check for these and OMG, they were available. Came two days ago and I couldn't be happier. Seriously, these are the best.

A good compromise of build quality, sound and price. The XDU is better with sound and build quality but also double the cost.

One ear bud is safer than two when I am out walking my dogs or driving. I walk my dogs on a path that is shared with bike riders and they tend to come up behind us QUICK. They will alert me they are there, but with two ear buds in, of course I'm not going to hear them. I haven't been able to find a blue tooth ear pieces I am happy with due to hearing loss in both ears, this bud fits snug and I can hear very well thru it. It works great for hands free while driving, the cord is long enough I can have the bud in and the phone in the charger/holder beside me. I was using a dual ear bud set and putting one of the buds inside my shirt but was forever getting the extra tangled in my hair. This single bud was the perfect solution for me. The sound is great for phone calls and pod cast/talk radio. I don't use them for music so I have no idea how they sound for music., but for spoken word, it is crisp and clean with no static. The mic works great, everyone says it sounds fine even when I out in a breeze walking the dogs.

I have been single sided deaf on the right side for 18 years. I have gone through a lot of headphones. I used to just cut off the right side since I didn't need it. Then a friend recommended these about 9 years ago. I have bought 5 of them now. These mono headphones are perfect for someone like me who doesn't hear naturally in stereo anymore. You get that illusion with this. They are clear and the volume doesn't get distorted. The microphone gives a out a clear voice on the other end, according to family and friends. I use these to listen to music, watch videos and movies as well as to talk on the phone and these headphones are perfect for all those activities. I definitely recommend these headphones.

I've bought this headphone multiple times throughout the last few years, for work or working out or just to have an unobtrusive headphone to listen to music or audiobooks while I do chores. The double ribbed earpiece that this headphone used to have more or less ensured that it would never fall out, no matter what I did. They held up splendidly, the sound quality was good enough, and I could trust it. I bought multiple simply just so I'd never be without one. It was a great product, absolutely amazing. And then they apparently changed it. There's no longer a double ribbed earpiece. The cable is noticeably shorter than what it was. The headphone itself doesn't inspire any particular faith that it'll hold up, and requires constant maintenance/cleaning (at least once every two days) to ensure that your sound quality doesn't nosedive into what I can only describe as "trying to hear your tunes while underwater." I unknowingly bought two of the "new" version *through this page* (Which looks nothing like what's currently pictured, the better older model), and I am extremely disappointed.
