Very good addition to your library
Good book on the subject, although I value his grading text even more. This book has some pages on things I've not found anywhere else, or at least not as well presented, such as a section on shirring guidelines. His couple of pages on button and buttonhole placement is also well done.

A must Have
This edition by Plycon Press is the same as the Fairchild one, and A LOT more affordable. It was selling for $75 in excellent, I mean practically new condition, compared to the Fairchild that sells used in fair condition for $299. It is a great reference for basic pattern making and drafting.

Lots of information but excessive descriptions
This book was purchased for a manufacturing course at school. Although there is a wealth of information in this 1+" patternmaking book, I've found that the instructions are somewhat confusing even with a design background. It's a mix of excessive wording that could easily be remedied with simple diagrams, nothing too elaborate needed. You're likely to find yourself figuring out what the heck the instructions are describing after re-reading a few/several times for what should be simple procedures.Overall, it's nice to have in my collection but definitely not the most 'accessible' one.

Worth purchasing
Excellent resource for professionals - pick it up before it becomes as difficult to obtain as his grading book. It's not fancy, but it's packed full of valuable information. The coil binding allows it to lay flat and the flow of the information is well thought out.

Five Stars
Great alternative to the more expensive publication. Same information, better pricing.

a useful textbook about pattern drafting
I have been studying pattern drafting for a while and I found out that the book of jack handford is one that you can rely on its acuracy in drafting a personal pattern.I already read some popular books on the market but it fall short in personal pattern drafting technique.Jack Handford's book teaches the basic of drafting and how to adapt it in other ways, if you studied it carefully it will be very beneficial to designer's and seamtreses who is just starting out.
