Shock Doctor Men's Ultra Shockskin Hockey Shorts

I needed something for hip protection, my regular hockey pants just weren't cutting it. Every game i fell on the same spot, right where the thigh bone joins the pelvis and it was really starting to hurt. I looked at new pants but I didn't want to spend $190 and a girdle didn't have the padding in the right spot. I took a shot on these and so far they seem to be working pretty well. The padding is in the right spot and while I would prefer it be a tad thicker it hasn't actually been an issue, although I've only used them twice. They are certainly the most expensive hockey jock I've ever purchased but if you're looking for a little more hip padding without the added bulk then I recommend giving these a try.

Update: I have up decided to update my rating to 5 stars. I have used these shorts weekly for over 2 years and have kept my hips well protected. 3 years a go, I tore my hip while practicing Aiki-jūjutsu. A pressure point message therapist recommend these shorts. These shorts have served me well ever since and have survied training trips to Japan and Canada a well as the washing machine. If you practice martial arts and are recovering a hip injury, these shorts are highly recommended. I will be purchasing these again.As a practitioner of martial arts who has had a hip injury and takes a lot high level falls, these shorts have worked real well so far. They keep everything in place as well as providing a little extra padding when when taking Judo falls. For me all I needed was padding on the sides which these provide. Also no problems while washing so far. Great product, just what I needed.

I use these shorts when I play hockey and they are amazing! My only complaint is that I should have bought a size bigger, but they still fit, although they are admittedly a little more snug than I would like. Aside from the size issue, these things are terrific! The padding is well placed, the pouch for the cup is very comfortable, and the Velcro sock holders work perfect! The Velcro tabs are my favorite part about these, no more buying tape to keep my socks pulled up while playing! There is a Velcro tab on the front and back of each thigh. You can close the Velcro tab on itself when you are not using them, so that the Velcro is not sticking to your shorts/sweats/pants/etc.If you play hockey you should get some of these, you will not be disappointed!

These get the job done as far as protection is concerned. The inner linner for the cup is fantastic and fits perfectly. The hip protection is okay, but not the very best (ive seen some shorts with much more and thicker hip protection, however they have saved me from a nasty fall onto my hip where my shorts decided to move out of the way...they keep you in the game and keep any serious pain away the next morning.

Pretty good shorts. I like the hip padding and the Velcro holds socks really well. The fit is a little small and the pocket the cup goes in seems to be small causing a weird fit. All and all the best Ive used so far.

Husband likes for hockey to protect the joints. He says they are a little snug. He normally wears a Medium. The Medium fits, but is snug. It works for sports and they may stretch. But if you're between a M and a L, maybe go Large.

Great padding and fit!

Best jock griddle combo I've ever tried!The padding is not restrictive and is placed in key area to protect. The cup portion is a genius innovation compared to competitors with the way if fits and integrates in the shorts. Also, the Velcro taps are much better than what you find on others, as it has far more of the tacky side to grab your socks.Only gripe is there isn't a loop to use to hang dry them; I use the tag though

Fit great, nice addition of some padding on your hips. Not sure how long the velcro strips will last though, they seem weaker than previous versions.

Arrived timely and in great condition. My son did not like the jock as it interfered with certain movements on the ice.

Very comfortable, the small fits me well at 5'8 140 lbs. Remember to wash them
