A nice period piece of reporting on the Northwest Frontier Province in the late 1900s
This is an useful piece of reportage of how the British Raj functioned in around 1907-1910 in the area now known as Khyber Pakhtunwa in Pakistan. There is a stress on the army and the problems it faced. There are some interesting geographical details which may be of interest to current readers. The latter half deals more with a military expedition against gun smugglers on the Iranian coast.
