So the razor is excellent, but the details have changed and buyers need to be aware. I bought in part because I hadn't yet tried the Lord Platinum blades but wanted to, so getting 50 seemed a good deal...however, it didn't come with 50 Lord Platinums, it came with 20 Gillette 7 O'clock Green Super Stainless. These Gillette blades are over twice as expensive as Lord Platinums, and I hadn't tried those yet, but wanted to, so the change is about even. Some might prefer 20 of them to 50 from Lord, hard to guess.Second, the head of the razor is also gold plated, not Chrome like in the picture description as I write. Is it better one way or another? I can't say. But the biggest issue is that this is described as a 'mild' razor both in official description and in reviews, so there might be other changes with the gold plated head. If I compare this to the well known and respected Feather Popular safety razor in the budget side and consider it the neutral between mild and aggressive. This razor is slightly more aggressive than that. But still less aggressive than the also cheap but well built Facon butterfly safety razor also on Amazon. Because of the description as mild, when I first used this, I used it like a mild razor and got a few cuts the first time. I have adjusted to use it correctly and it gives excellent BBS shaves, even with cheap blades like Dorco.For reference the Merkur Futur is my favorite razor, but I like variety and won't take that one on trips. The Leaf Twig is my second favorite. I don't have a favorite blade, most DE blades work great for their price in the right razor or setting.

I have a drawer full of different handles, because shave companies including Dollar, shave club, Gillette etc, keep making new blades with different handles and nothing matches. Matches so I end up with 20 something handles in it and blades that I can't find the handles for. Enough of that junk. They're them all away and bought. This. Came with razors and I doubt I'll have to buy any more for at least a year and a half. And believe me, that's a lot cheaper than shaving with those otherwise. Talk about a clean, smooth shave and less time. This is the only way to go!

Did this razor meet my expectations, yes and it is as good as more expensive razors.

(Gold-Plated} is,..well below the average price$ in today's Market-Value. There are plenty of fine Razors for both Men & Women out-there but! few Razors, have everything including $price that come close to this Razor. Its a darn-good Razor.
