Neat finishing wax for paper art
A friend told me about this. I use it to wax some of my watercolor paintings so they don’t need to be protected by glass. I bet it would work great on graphite or colored pencil to protect the surface and stabilize the material. I don’t think it would be suitable for pastels though, the application process might disturb the creamy strokes. It applies easily with a brush, and doesn’t smear the paint or alter the look of the art at all, but be aware that once it is applied, no changes can be made to the underlying surface. It’s permanent. I was actually hoping it would act more like a varnish, as in giving a bit of depth to the art and a more visible protective surface, but it it completely matte and natural. Maybe I will do some experiments by brushing gel medium over some waxed samples to see what happens. Have fun with this!

Works great, postcard tested.
I was excited when I came across this product in a YouTube short. I immediately ordered it, and I am NOT disappointed! It works great for watercolor and gouache. I made my own Christmas post cards and this works phenomenally! It does take awhile to dry, I let mine cure overnight. I definitely recommend. It washes out of a brush nicely as well. No smell. 10/10 would buy again

Fantastic cold wax medium for seal gouache paintings
This cold wax medium has a smooth and creamy consistency, making it easy to use for sealing my gouache paintings. After using it, the piece does not have a fully matte finish (as you can see in the images). The wax gives a little depth and enhances the colors. Not too much, but it is definitely noticeable. It's a very effective product. I usually use two coats on each finished piece, letting the first coat dry before applying the second one. It is important to keep it in a cool place. Where I live, it is very hot, and when using the wax that is slightly melted, I have noticed that it takes much longer to dry each coat. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an effective and inexpensive way to seal watercolor and gouache work.

W wax — works on gouache
As far as I'm aware, this seal does what it's meant to do! I admit I've always been terrified of varnishing/top coating any of my paintings because I fear of smudging— this wax is very smooth and forgiving regarding the overall application. The finish is very nice! My black gouache tends to have a glossier finish, as it's typically evident in a finished piece once it's dry. However, with the wax, it definitely gives the dried paint back the same vibrancy as when I originally mixed my colors and gives it that nice flat finish. It's a nice feeling seeing it afterwards and makes you really feel like you've painted a masterpiece— I'm not sure if that sounded like a stretch but I think I'm just glad I finished this painting without crashing out. Nutze es zum "Versiegeln" von Aquarellen, es funktioniert sehr gut. Dorlands Wax läßt sich leicht auftragen und hat nur einen geringen, für mich nicht unangenehmen, Eigengeruch. Daumen hoch.
