Amazing!
This is a must have for any REM fan. They sound amazing! I was never able to see REM in person so I really love the live concert sound. The DVD is enjoyable and is a nice touch. I know some have complained about the format for the DVD but I don't find it difficult to watch; it makes me think of how Tour Film was shot. One of the high points of this set has to be Mike Mills singing "Rockville". Only thing I think is odd is the 2nd CD in the collection is there are only has 5 songs on it. You would think they would have put it all on 1 CD or divided it up a little more evenly.

Good but not great
I decided to pick this cd up since the sound of a live R.E.M cd was appealing to me. It was pretty good but not the type of memorable performance you would expect from a band of this caliber. The song selection was excellent as it didn't concentrate on all their overplayed hits. But unlike the great live bands/performers of our time such as Springsteen, Rush, Dire Straits, etc.,..R.E.M failed to rise up and establish themselves as a top tier live band with this recording which they really needed to do at this point in their careers. Simply put, there was nothing special about the way the songs were done on this cd and it's a little overpriced at $20 as the dvd gives you the same songs you already heard on the cd. If you are a die-hard R.E.M fan I guess you get this cd right away- otherwise wait for the price to come down or buy it used.

Excellent CD, so-so DVD
I’ve rated this box set 5-Stars because the music and the recordings themselves are excellent, capturing the feel and energy of the concert while maintaining excellent recording quality. The DVD however is fair at best as indicated by other reviewers. I was prepared for this based on the other reviews and I truly wasn’t interested in the DVD to begin with anyway. The track selection is excellent and the recording is excellent. Pitch the DVD if you want to, the CDs are still worth the price. Also 10-Stars to Amazon for providing the instant music download via their Cloud Player when purchasing this box set! This is a truly awesome Amazon feature.

This is the REM RSD2019 release not Pink Floyd!
Wellllllllll I got itAnd it sure sounds like it was sourced from a bootleg tape or from the PA. It’s a nice set lots of mandolin and the REM sound of the time. The vinyl is 180 gram and quiet and flat, the artwork is nice. Just know it’s not a soundboard version! 3 stars for that issue. Amazon blew the review for sure! Pink Floyd? Okayyyyyyyyy

Okay to listen to, horrible to watch
This is a puzzling release. The audio portion is pretty good, with a mix of new songs (the ones from Around the Sun are much better here than on that record) and old classics. It's mixed well, it gives a good reprsentation of how this great band really sounds in its live shows. What's weird is that they pack almost all the songs on one CD, then just put 5 songs on the other. For a band that thinks of itself as environmentally conscious, that strikes me as odd.The packaging is pretty ordinary--no liner notes to speak of, and not much by way of photos or anything. The video is just awful.I get a headache trying to watch it. I don't think I've ever made it through the whole thing, except once when I fell asleep three songs in. It cuts around from one angle to the next at seemingly random intervals. I'm sure there's something Artistic I just don't understand here, but it's difficult to watch without getting seasick. So, I'd give the CDs 3.5 stars, the video 0.5 stars, and 2 stars overall it is.

Excellent seller and product
Excellent cd/DVD and I have watched the DVD several times. I hope that rem comes back and starts doing tours again but it is nice to see them in concert on this DVD.

REM - Rousing Effervescent Music!
What can you say about REM and their storming live performances? They just get better with age. Michael Stipe's make-up is ridiculous, but you can't argue with his prowess on stage. The band is tight and the choice of songs on this live set is inspired. As always in a REM live show, the tracks span their career, but here the most surprising aspect is how good the most recent songs sound. The performance of the 'Around the Sun' songs stand out in this set; they shimmer, shine, sting and attack like they never did on the studio album, mainly due to different live arrangements and the way that Stipe sings them with attitude. Listen to 'Final Straw' (play it loud) and it will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. The DVD is great too, although the camera work is a bit arty.Long may REM continue to perform live.

Rather arty-farty
As usual a great performance by one of America's best but the video has excessive flashing images that tend to distract from the performance, especially the first couple of songs. The slower songs were better as you can actually see the band for more than a milli-second. I do prefer to see the artists instead of having to look away as the images are too flashy. However, the performance is top notch - REM you are much missed!!
