Gavel and Sounding Block - Genuine Hardwood Walnut Finish

I wanted a nice-quality gavel that wouldn't break easily when used and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg. I also wanted one that did not sound like a toy when it hit the sounding block. When I came across this one it didn't have any reviews on it so I was hesitant to take the risk on it, but I am glad I did. I am definitely not disappointed. It is very durable and sturdy with a nice, loud knock when hit on the sounding block. A great value for an excellent product!

I've been collecting gavels for decades. I have hundreds of them from all over the world. Gavels range greatly in price. This one was on the cheaper end of ones available for purchase on the internet. It is simple in style. The soundblock is not in proportion to the head of the gavel. The wood is of fair quality. The quality of the sound when struck--the most important aspect of a gavel--is fair. Overall, I got what I paid for and this gavel and soundblock are a good value for the money.

Usually when you see something on the internet or in a catalog, it looks exactly like what you want....until you get it. But in this case - it's true. This was exactly what I wanted.

Fast delivery. Great condition. Only drawback is the sound, which is a bit light if you want to really get everyone's attention, but a solid purchase for the price.
