Great color and application!
I used this for a quick Kim Possible costume. I was able to coat my entire head in about 20 minutes. I did need to use 2/3 of the jar on my blond hair, so if you want bright colors and have brown or black hair, get two jars. The color is definitely brighter than I thought but it worked great. The wax washed off my hands and hair really easily after 18 hours of wear. Definitely recommend wetting your hair and giving it a thorough brush before applying the wax.

Works great!
It was easy to apply, didn't leave my hair overly stiff. Washed out easily leaving no residue. Color was easily applied and very visible (I have all grey hair).

Takes a lot of time/energy to use, but nice effect
I have long, fine, medium brown hair. It too hours to apply the gold cream thoroughly. Then it took time to dry. Then it took at least an hour to comb through it so I could style it (see first picture). Got gold dust all over my bathroom. That said, it was a nice effect for my Tinkerbell costume (second picture), albeit a little stiff looking. But it washes out SUPER easily with water! Washed my hair once and I was back to brunette. Got a wet paper towel and my bathroom was clean again.Next time I want to go full blonde, I will either to spray temporary dye or a wig, as this took a lot of time and effort. But if I just want some superficial streaks of color? This is a great option.

Not great for darker, thicker hair. It's a mess and misleading.
In my PERSONAL experience with the red wax is that it AIN'T it.I wanted to have red hair for a Halloween costume for this year. Unfortunately for me, I care about my hair so I didn't want to bleach or dye my hair at all. I deiced to go for some hair wax instead and MAN I did NOT have a good time with this. The process takes a long time, having to wet, blow dry till damp, spend lots of time working it through and blow drying again. I'm a brunette with some thickness so the red wasn't very vibrant at all. Once I do get the shade I want, it's too much product and won't dry at all.I CANNOT color in a minute and it is NOT that easy to wash off. I had to shampoo my hair FOUR times, FOUR times to get all the red out! With how much hair I have, that's expensive! I didn't even do half my hair! You need to REALLY scrub this stuff off your hands or else they look sunburnt, it also stained my poor nails. I really tried just to do my bangs and tops layer of my hair and it just wasn't doing it. This stuff can get everywhere, if it stays on a surface for a little too long, it stains. I can't get the red off my bathroom door >:/I'm pretty disappointed to say the least, I would much rather go out with my normal hair and be comfortable for Halloween than worrying about sweating and or touching my hair at all in risk of staining anything. At least it comes off white clothes on one wash, I'll give it that. Again, this is with my experience, it might work better with your hair, I'm not very well versed in hair styling as I should be. PLEASE, buy at your own risk and please try to remember, Halloween isn't about looking good, it's about having fun with what you can do, don't over stress yourself for a single evening and or night.

Not great for dark hair
I have longer, dark brown hair. I practically used the entire tub, working into my hair for 30 minutes, and achieved a slight greying. Not even in the ballpark of the promo photos. I saw a few folks had better success with the product on dark SHORT hair and that's why I decided to give it a shot. I ended up doubling up with a spray color as well to get my hair as grey as possible.Cleanup was very easy and washed out with 1 shower (2 shampoos just to make sure). One downside is that the coloring has some kind of glittery metallic flake in it which GOT EVERYWHERE once it was applied. Any time you touch your hair, itch your scalp, etc. you will get this sparkly residue on your hands and it WILL spread to anything you touch. My wallet is now glittery, my phone needed a good wipe down, my clothes were covered in the glitter. Be prepared!

Every hairdresser needs this!!
Okay, when I wanted to stop coloring my hair and just go natural gray I tried all kinds of tricks… bleaching the colored hair ( damaging as heck) and even cutting it super short. This product is amazing and that little remaining color I have is easily covered to match my natural gray. Wish I found this earlier! 👍

No in wigs, and no in natural hair
I got two jars of this to experiment with, aiming to answer two questions:1) Can it be used in wigs? Answer: no. At least not synthetic fibers, but maybe it'd work in natural hair wigs. But for as much as those cost, who'd take the risk? Especially considering the answer to question 2. I tried putting it in a short ombré-blonde wig, one that barely reaches the shoulders. It took half the jar, and the color was grainy and uneven, with speckles and clumps no matter how long I tried to even it out with hands or comb; I guess it just doesn't want to adhere and spread evenly on synthetic fibers. At least it washed out well, and the wig remains usable.2) Can it be used in natural hair? I don't have enough to do any more than be an experimental subject, but my wife does, so we tried it in mine as a test case for hers. The result was a barely visible color change (might have done better in her sandy-blonde hair than my dark brown), a sticky flaky coating that got onto clothing and furniture (well, onto towels we put into place for the test, over clothing and furniture), and a pretty awful smell. It did straighten out my hair at first, though it curled back up later, and I can see how it might be useful for styling, but I can't see how anyone, even starting from bone-white hair, could get the colors they show in the pictures.A jar is at most two applications, maybe one if you have long hair and want to color it all. You'll be washing out everything you wore or sat on after you're done. And I don't know how you'd deal with the smell. What I am wondering now, though, is might other brands work better, or is this just how it is?On the up side, it is easy to apply and easy to wash back out.
