***Dolores h *** DOLORES H is early hybrid variety of Brussels sprouts. Vegetation period 120-130 days after germination. Steam can grow to 100-120 cm. Use boiled, steamed, can be marinated, pickled, frozen. Cold resistant!!! Description: Brassica oleracea is the species of plant that includes many common foods as cultivars, including cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, Savoy, and Chinese kale. In its uncultivated form it is known as wild cabbage. Its tolerance of salt and lime and its intolerance of competition from other plants typically restrict its natural occurrence to limestone sea cliffs, like the chalk cliffs on both sides of the English Channel. Rich in protein and loaded with vitamin C, Brussels sprouts deserve a place in the home garden and the gourmet chef's repertoire. These early-to-arrive, pretty, dark green mini cabbages are delectable roasted, steamed or blanched, their rich nutty flavor nicely complementing pork roast or the holiday turkey. An excellent variety fresh or frozen Prepare the site: All brassica crops grow best in partial-shade, in firm, fertile, free-draining soil. Start digging over your soil in autumn, removing any stones you find and working in plenty of well-rotted manure or compost. Tread on the soil to remove any air pockets and make the surface very firm. Sowing: Sow March to April. Nearly all brassicas should be planted in a seedbed or in modules under glass and then transferred. Sow thinly, as this reduces the amount of future thinning necessary and potential risk from pests. Transplant the seedlings when they are about 7cm (3in) tall. Do not allow transplants to become stunted before transplanting. Water the day before moving, and keep well-watered until established. Space plants 60 to 90cm (24 to 36in) apart in the row, or 60cm (24in) in all directions in beds. The seeds are factory packed in paper envelopes. Germinating power is tested, best before 07.2018.
