Wow! I am impressed with this survival kit! You would not believe what you get! When I opened the package, I was astonished in both the size of the kit and the number of tools inside. A pull-tie cloth bag was also included! The case is about the size of my hand, waterproof, and secured shut with snug clasps. I opened the kit and found it was packed with tools I can use for just about any outdoor activity like camping, hiking, fishing, you name it! I will probably use it for my honey do list as well to fix stuff around the house. I was equally impressed with how well everything was organized and amazed at the number of tools. The description listed about a dozen tools to be used for a variety of functions and there is so much more that can be done with the kit.Where to begin??? The interior of the case has a foam lining which can be removed (perfect to store sheets of paper or a topo map), and the exterior has a solid frame with line attachments and a reflective strip. The bottle carrier is adjustable and has Velcro and snaps for secure closure. The knife – IT IS SHARP! It has a great handle and belt clip, not to mention a tactical point as well as a smaller blade tucked into the handle (also sharp). The rope saw is great for small jobs although I suggest wearing gloves or adding to the finger rings. The whistles. Yes, they are LOUD. One has a shiny surface for reflective purposes and includes a key ring. The other is located on the wrist bracelet.The most impressive are the multi-function steel tool and fire starters. The tool is made of stainless steel and is smaller than a business card yet measures 1.5mm (1/16”) thick. Very sturdy. Watch out when handling the tool because the knife is SHARP! It has numerous uses listed in the description card and can be used in conjunction with the other tools in the kit. The fire starters (there are two) are quite effective. One is located on the paracord survival bracelet near the compass and whistle. A great idea whoever invented it – a multi-functional tool you can wear and just about forget you need it. Also, the bracelet can be adjusted to wrist size and, in emergencies, the paracord can be unraveled for multiple uses. The second fire starter is a standalone type and easy to use. Be careful when applying pressure because sparks will fly!And last but not the least. The tactical pen is solid, sturdy, and easy to grip. It fits firmly in the hand whether writing on paper/plastic or using for defensive purposes. It can be clipped to a pocket or belt for quick access and the defensive tip can be quite useful. The flashlight is very small but do not be fooled as it has an adjustable beam and a strobe feature. The strobe feature can be very useful in low light situations for location purposes. It also has a clip and can be fastened to an object for hands-free use. I did not open the emergency blanket, but the dimensions are just about right for anyone up to six feet tall and in the fetal position.I can go on and on about this survival kit. Personally, with over 50 years’ experience working or enjoying the outdoors, this kit has a variety of tools and features that can help with just about any situation that arises. Overall, I highly recommend this valued product. The price is quite a steal for such a useful kit. I was searching for a great birthday present for my husband and found this camping survival set.
