Gotta Get This ROADPRO!!
I have to say that this is probably the GREATEST thing EVER invented! No longer do I have to suffer through 8-hour-old coffee sludge from McD's in the late afternoon/early evening! Or long lines at $$$$tarbuck$! No more sitting/standing in line for my morning cup! No more mourning an empty coffee cup while sitting in traffic jams! Find yourself some INSTANT COFFEE (or one of those coffee filter toppers for your own cup and just add a scoop of your own coffee and let it filter away) and say Good-Bye to those long lines! I love my RoadPro 12v Smart Car Pot! Just plug it into my cigarette lighter outlet and smile lovingly at it for about 10 minutes and it is READY TO GO!!P.S. Make SURE that you see the white light shining in the bottom of the INSIDE of the pot! That means that it IS plugged in/functioning/heating properly! I didn't know THAT in the beginning and I let out a string of "not very nice" words! No problems since then! Love, Love, LOVE THIS!!

***Updated*** This Hot Pot is full of white cakey s***...
I bought this item for the my truck, after less than a week of using it, I noticed that there's some white residue floating in the water, and that there's some white cakey s*** on the heating element...I'm seriously considering just getting a regular hotpot instead of this little thing and stop drinking hot white cakey s*** flavored with green tea.***Updated*** This thing is crap, see the attached images. After only 10 to 15 uses...

Since it worked so good, I bought him instant oatmeal and cup of ...
My husband is a long hauler so I bought this so he could heat up water so he could have a cup of coffee. It takes about 45 min. to get it to boil. So what he does is he has it strapped to the back of the passenger seat and it is plugged in. When he knows he is going to stop for the night he turns on the button so when he does stop he has boiling water for either his coffee, tea. Since it worked so good , I bought him instant oatmeal and cup of soup. He said it works perfectly. He turns it on an hour ahead of time and then when stopped he fixes his soup. He has hot oatmeal in the morning and he even uses it during the day while driving if he wants a cup of tea or another cup of coffee. He love's it so much I am purchasing another one so he can use 2.

It is a good product, but takes long time to boil.
It is good product, not great! It heated water to 190, not to 212F, but it was enough for us (maybe we should wait much longer). But cover is tight and it doesn't spill, which is important in moving car. It takes some experience to pour without spilling, but we master it very quickly. We like the kettle!

True to the reviews, but wish the lid opening was a better set up...
Just used this for the first time today. Took it out on the boat to make coffee. I read the ratings of it before purchasing it, but never read about the tight seal to the plastic lid that you see on the left. I'm concerned about two things.. breaking the plastic when trying to pull it out a little to raise the lid OR while getting it open with the tight lid, I spill hot water on me. If the manufacture is out there - please consider a better mechanism for the latch. Otherwise this product lives up to the reviews. Took me about 15-20 minutes to bring the water to an almost full boil.

Works Like a Charm!
Just got this little 12v. pot for heating water, soup, etc. and didn't expect much since I had a recent bad experience with a 12v. coffee maker that, after waiting over an hour for something to happen, didn't work at all. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! This litle unit is well-made and has some very nice features, such as being able to remove the pot from the base for easy cleaning. I also like the fact that, as well as an "on" light, the pot lights up with a white light to let you know that it is seated correctly on the base. It also has a nice safety feature in that it will shut off if there's not enough water, so it won't "burn dry." Best thing, though, is that it really does work! It does take longer with 12v. units, but that's to be expected. However, in less than half an hour the water was bubbling merrily away! I am very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

didn't work at all
very sad that this product did not work at all. when plugged in to car, with car on (followed all the instructions) it lit up but never heated the water at all. tried different cars, waited 20 minutes, NEVER WORKED! sent it back for refund. i will say amazon has a very easy return procedure and i did appreciate that.only gave it one star because i had to before i could enter my review. actually rating would be zero stars!

Ideal for long haul truckers!
I bought this for my husband, who is an over-the-road trucker. So far he's used it every day to heat up water for oatmeal, noodles and/or coffee. He only heats up as much water as he needs for whatever he's making, and he never puts anything into the pot except water only. It's working like a charm! There is a light indicator to let you know it's heating, and it will take a few minutes to get the water hot (figure about 10-15 minutes for 8 oz), but it does get hot. The heating base has an arm that snugs over a lip, kind of like a car hop tray. Hubby has it snugged onto the edge of the bottom bed in his sleeper. It fits perfectly back there and is out of the way when he's driving. He is VERY happy to be able to make coffee wherever he might be stopped!
