Four-and-a-Half Stars for Recipes That Work; One Star for Incompetent Editing
I'm giving this book four-and-a-half stars for the recipes that work and one star for an inexcusably poor editing job and the fact that at least some of the recipes don't agree with the recipes as they appeared on the TV show.I've had the book for about a month and made eleven recipes so far. Some were outstanding: Ratatouille; Salmon Rillette; Chicken Paillard with Tomatoes, Fennel, and Olives; Fennel Pollen-Dusted Branzino; White Wine-Citrus Spritzers. Some just didn't work at all: Chestnut Cake and Ricotta Gnocchi with Prosciutto, Peas, and Mint. And some, even those that worked well in the end, had confusing or incomplete instructions. The headnote for the Deviled Eggs with Smoked Salmon says that ". . . mayonnaise make these a little richer." But there's no mayonnaise in the ingredients. The headnote for Pan Roasted Duck Breast with Wilted Arugula and Dolce-Forte Sauce says "The sauce combines spices with a bit of dark chocolate and orange zest." But there's no orange zest listed in the ingredients. The ingredients list for the Ricotta Gnocchi lists 2½ cups of all-purpose flour; the instructions call for adding only two cups. The recipe for the Roasted Pork Loin with Wild Mushrooms, Garlic and Sage Pan Jus never instructs you to cut up the mushrooms as they clearly are in the video of the show. And in the same video, Chef Ripert adds rosemary along with thyme and sage to the pork; there's no mention of rosemary in the recipe.I'm a fairly experienced cook and in most cases was able to make adjustments that resulted in an often excellent dish--but sometimes only by checking the recipe in the book against the online video. I'd still recommend this book for those recipes that do work. The recipes are mostly fairly easy, require minimal preparation so are appropriate for week-day meals, and definitely deliver in terms of flavor. But there's just no excuse for a cookbook as incompetently edited as this one.

Perfect and signed!
The seller did not do this book justice. It's in perfect condition - beautiful and it's signed. Not sure if it's his legit autograph, but I like to believe that it is. I'm really excited to dig into these recipes.

The Pleasure of Cooking, Sharing and Living!
First of all, I haven't went through this book completely. I'm reading it. This is the kind of book able to provide you with knowledge beyond the simple, everyday experience of cooking. When you know about the wild boar hunting in Tuscany or about a restauranteur who pays respect everyday to the pacific ocean by riding some waves and then, prepared and in peace goes to his restaurant to prepare the food and share love, then you know cooking is love, sharing and living. Eric shares loves and his many years in the cooking business. I'm light years away from Mr. Ripert knowledge and experience but one thing it's true, I want to cook with the same love and pleasure for life as Eric Ripert does!

Good book. Bought it used- didn't quite come in the condition it was listed as.

Perfect Cookbook
LOVE! This book is exactly what I was looking for. I grew up eating mostly French cuisine and now want to learn some basics myself. His recipes are easy to follow and leave room for putting your own person twist on them.

Give the “used” option a try next time
Even though the book I purchased was advertised as “used”, there was no evidence that it had ever had the covers opened. Absolutely pristine!

Amazing stuff
Eric Ripert is one of our favorite chefs. We used to watch the show on T.V, the book infact is awesome. We have tried a lot of the recipes in here and they all worked wonderfully. Eric makes cooking fun and the food is excellent. I would highly recommend this book for those who love cooking and ofcourse eating.
