Question 1

It states about 5 feet by 5 feet.  
Is this measured along the back of the desk?  If so, it actually would appear to be rather small.  
Can anyone offer me the actual dimensions on the seating side as well?

The two back sides are a half in shy of 5ft. (59.5in). On the glass door side of the seating side (left side) the total length is 39.5in with 23.25in of that being open for your legs/chair. On the filing cabinet side (right side) of the seating side, the total length is 36.25in with 20in of that being open for your legs/chair. I hope that makes sense. If it doesn't just respond to this and I will try to explain better. For an inexpensive, ikea style desk, this desk is ok. If you're going to put it together and never move it, it is great. It does feel pretty nice and sturdy.  I just wouldn't try to pick it up without one person on each corner.  I bought it to put in a true work office that would see heavy use. I run my own business from home. I'm not made of money but I usually spend the extra for a solid wood pre-built piece of higher quality furniture but in this case I couldn't justify it. I would buy this desk again. Hope I helped.Updated: I still have and use this desk daily. I have actually moved it 3 times and it has held up fine. The desk will hold lots of weight. I have an entire computer with2  monitors and 2 printers among other things on it and it's fine. When I said sturdy I meant you can shake it and it doesn't wiggle a lot like some poorly designed and/or built furniture will do. I can't stand that. This is a great desk for the price. Is it reversible? I would rather have the computer cabinet and the file cabinet switch positions.

Would this desk accommodate a pull-out keyboard tray and if so would it be to low to be usable? What size keyboard tray could it accommodate?

Yes, it will accommodate a pull-out keyboard tray, it would not be too low to be usable, it would fit beneath either side and would easily accommodate a tray 20-24 inches long.

Question 4

I need a nice big workstation like this that's not "laminate", either solid real wood (not pressed sawdust) or metal... and sippable to hawaii... got?

Same!!!!  Ordered and was only sent one box (half the desk) and now they are saying the 2nd box never shipped, and they don’t have the second box. Horrible!!!  Why are they only sending 1 of the 2 boxes?  I waited 2 1/2 weeks for this desk, only to get only half of it.
