I'm sympathetic to companies trying to do their best and you'd think that a tape dispenser would be a pretty easy thing to get right but sadly, no. It's possible that I received a defective unit but the one that I have has two horrendous issues:1. The tape roll keeps moving off-center and getting jammed so you're having to re-adjust the roll after in between using pieces of tape2. It is INSANELY loud - how you might ask could tape be loud? ... I'm not sure how to describe but I've since purchased a different dispenser (Uline) and it is significantly quieterLong story short, I would definitely not recommend purchasing this product in its current state although if the company makes improvements to its design, then that would be great. In the meantime, pick up the Uline one or some other brand.

Considering the price tag, I expected this tape gun to roll & cut at least SOMEWHAT smoothly, but no.Instead of cutting the tape, it shreds it.So in order to use the product without stopping to fix the situation after every use, I have to hold the tape gun in one hand, a pair of scissors in my waistband, and my free hand has to hold the end of the tape in place to get it started. Otherwise it'll just slide along the box. And when I'm ready, instead of cutting the tape with the tape gun's "blade" (as one would usually do), I have to remove the scissors from my waistband and cut the tape manually. Lest it be shredded by means tantamount to that of a rabid wolverine.

I bought two of these, because we will be moving soon, and I didn't want to put my tape dispenser around. I thought these would be easy to work with and save time.I was wrong.We've spent a LOT of time re-aligning the tape, as it shifts and moved every time you use it. The little metal guide that is supposed to hold the tape in place does very little.We thought at first it was the cheapie roll of tape that comes with it. But nope...same results with the more expensive box tape as well.If you have a lot of boxes to tape, save yourself a headache and get a more heavy-duty tape gun. If you only rarely need box tape, then this might suit your purposes.But for now, we are muttering aloud every time we use these. The tape twists, gets stuck to itself or the dispenser, and is generally annoying to use.

Don't get me wrong. This tape gun is very efficient. It actually has sharp blades that cut tape easily and most importantly at a fluid pace. You get what you pay for. Thus the quality of this tape gun isn't going to be as sleek and feel as hand crafted as other products. But hands down it gets the job done at a rate and thoroughness that I'm satisfied with. Especially since I use 3M Scotch Heavy Duty shipping tape on this it actually cuts it properly. Would reccomend, so far so good.

Not an extremely heavy weight tape but good for pack and ship. The tape came a bit dented on the side with no signs of damage on the shipping box or the manufacturer's packaging. So far it doesn't seem to be affecting feeding the tape but I've only run a couple of inches as a test. Time will tell.Ultimately happy with the purchase. Great price for a complete tape and handle dispenser set.If there were any improvement it would be to either provide a blade cover or have the blade retract. If not careful this guy will knick you when rummaging around the stock cabinet!

You want a tape gun that works, that keeps the tape from folding over on itself, that cuts effectively, neatly, and completely. You want one that doesn't break. This is that tape gun. The tape it comes with is thin but sticks and holds well. What more could you want?

I love this tape dispenser! It is so easy to use, that I didn't even need to read the instructions. It's sturdy and heavy duty and the tape roll doesn't fall off like other dispensers. It's very high quality for the price. It's very nice that it comes with a tape roll, so you can start taping boxes right away. The tape roll has a bad smell to it, but most tape does anyway. I will be buying more of these for sure.

I've been using the small dispenser cause I could imagine using these big ones. I decided to try again thinking might be better for big boxes and true enough, it's so much more convenient on large boxes. For small ones, I still continue to use the smaller dispenser.
