Content is wonderful, printing is horrific.
I LOVE everything that's inside this book. It's perfect for keeping you on a schedule with what you can garden each month and how to prepare for the coming months. I love it!But my book's spine fell completely APART within one week! I do not abuse my books and this one was not abused. It was laid open while I studied it and made my gardening plans based on it, but otherwise it laid closed on my desk when not in use. The printing of this wonderful book is absolutely shameful.

Great list of what to do when.
This provided me with an excellent breakdown of what to plant when and a list of chores to do in my garden each month for the most productive garden I can achieve. If you just buy one book to help with your gardening, this is the one.

Not instructive enough.
For beginner gardeners, like myself, I would prefer more detailed instructions. For example, when the book says "feed regularly" or "water regularly", I need to know exactly how often and how much. Also, keep in mind that the author is British, and a lot of varieties he recommends aren't common here in the U.S.

Good Content, but AWFUL Binding - Completely Came Apart
Content is great, but binding is not so great. I’m very disappointed because I have had this book for a week, and the binding has completely separated from the cover making it extremely difficult to read. This was a birthday gift from my husband, and I have throughly enjoyed reading it, and still need to continue to read it to help me with my garden, but now it’s very difficult to read. :( I’m trying to attach a picture of it.

Good content but binding fell apart after two days
As others have noted, the binding is poor quality. I purchased it thinking maybe I would not have this problem, but the book is falling apart after two days (and I was extra careful as I turned each page). I will probably return it and get an e-book version. I love the well organized and attractively designed content, just perfect for a novice gardener, especially the monthly suggested task lists.

Great book, lousy binding
The content was wonderful, clearly providing information on what to plant in what months, a sort of to-do list for each month, tips, and plant profiles that even included a plant-to-harvest schedule. However, only a few hours after we first read it, the binding split, evidently cheap and poor quality. We are very disappointed as we now have to find another book that lives up to this one’s content.

Book content is great! The book is already falling apart.
I got this book a couple weeks ago and love the content. It’s a great one stop shop for a lot of interesting gardening info. That being said, I am so frustrated that the printing was done so cheaply for a book I paid so much for. The binding is already falling apart. It is made of string and plastic and the strings are breaking and the plastic is separating from the cover which will soon lead to all the pages falling out and this great book ending up in the trash. Really disappointed with this purchase.

As advertised
Arrived a little later, but most likely due to the mail service in Norway. Exactly as advertised. Happy with the book.

Nice, but for mild climate gardens
I liked this book overall. I have self taught gardening knowledge, but piecemeal know-how doesn’t put things together for “when” in a garden year and this book is clearly laid out to help you work though that. It’s got useful pictures and a lot of quick information that you don’t have to bog through long paragraphs to find. What I found frustrating was the vague mentions of northern climates and seasonal differences (and I am definitely in a very northern garden area) yet all the information geared towards a more moderate or warmer climate. I appreciate the knowledge and tips, but I’m still left wondering how they translate for my garden. Knowing exactly what zone or season or climate the book is geared for would have helped (and may have stopped me from buying the book because it’s not very practical for me). Although it tries to be general there’s no mistaking the fact that I simply cannot plant, dig-over or cover any of my garden beds at the start of a year like the author suggests in his garden calendar. So it would be nice if there were sections or information boxes on how all this can transfer over to my garden. If you have a garden or want a kitchen garden all year round—and can spread compost or manure on your gardens in January and dig over organic material in February—then this book has a ton of information geared for your garden climate.
