The best Shark Week Collection I own!
I chose this rating because I've had Shark Week Collections from 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011 for quite awhile, but this one eluded me for quite some time. I checked it out at my local library and LOVED it! This was about 3 years ago. I looked EVERYWHERE! I didn't have internet access until 2 months ago. My brother shops online ALL the time! He said I should be able to find it here. I gave it a shot and am now a believer! After 3 years of searching, I have my favorite Shark Week Collection! Once I took it out of the package, it was brand new and ready to be opened! The discs were intact and had no marks or flaws. I recommend this video to shark lovers everywhere! CAUTION! THERE IS GRAPHIC CONTENT! THIS COLLECTION IS NOT INTENDED FOR YOUNG CHILDREN OR PEOPLE WHO ARE BOTHERED BY THE SIGHT OF BLOOD! There are episodes that my children, Diane (9) and Livvy (7), can enjoy, that aren't very graphic. I hope many shark fans buy and watch this product. I strongly recommend it! Enjoy!

Good show, but not the best stream.
This was a show from Shark Week Vol 4, Sharkbite Summer, which discussed the shark attacks and media responses in 2001. The show was exciting, and the interviews and anecdotal information was quite dramatic. The show focuses much more on the attacks rather than on the sharks, so information about the sharks, the bull shark, black tip and tiger shark is sketchy at best. Other than the majority of these particular attacks seem to come from bull sharks, not much about the shark behavior is focused. The show was more interested in highlighting the media's own shark feeding frenzy, sensationalizing the attacks and ramping up the volume, making it look as if this was an uncommonly violent shark season. (It wasn't. There were three less reported shark attacks than the previous year.) And if the sharks were out to get us. (They aren't.) The show does highlight how this was unhelpful, and distracted from the truth of these incidents and minimize the heroism and courage of the victims and rescuers. The lower rating isn't from the content of the video but the quality of the streaming from Amazon. About every three minutes or so, the video was interrupted by data transfer. I had to wait several seconds before I could get back to what I was watching. Most of the time that's annoying but when you're watching something as dramatic as shark attacks, that's really damn annoying. Netflix still has you beat on streaming vid, guys.

Not exactly what I was hoping for
Due to an issue with my satellite dish, I didn't get to view much of Discovery's shark week this year, so I decided to purchase this blu-ray disc. Upon scanning through the chapters of the disc, I found most of the content to be reenactments of shark attacks, which I am personally not all that fond of. I find the acting to be terrible and cheesy. I was anticipating more educational and informational programs but unfortunately found these to be outnumbered by reenactments. If you enjoy these reenactments, by all means buy this. But if you're more into educational and informative content, you'll probably be better off with something else.

Shark Week: Blood in the Water
Of all the options for an episode of Shark Week, I choose Blood in the Water as favorite, which depicts the events of the infamous Matawan shark attacks of July, 1916. I first watched it when it premiered in 2009, and with the 100th anniversary of the attacks fast approaching I made the decision to purchase the episode. It's just as well made as I remembered it to be! I highly recommend it.

Great retelling of the Real JAWS story!
I was so excited to find this video on Amazon!! I watched it the 1st time during Shark Week one year, and could never find it again. It tells the story of the real events of 1916 that inspired Peter Benchley to create the book JAWS. It is narrated, uses actors in vintage attire and beach locations to retell this historic event.I just love it.

Well done!
A very well done documentary on mostly Great White's, Tiger's & Bull sharks. I especially enjoyed the mini film on the facts of the first major shark attack in the U.S. in 1916, great detail. Then the camera closeups were impressive. A really educational set!
