Go Aquarium G3000 Protein Skimmer for Saltwater Aquariums, 265-Gallon

I decide to try this skimmer because the price was good and it says up to 265 gallons. My system is 120g and 60g sump so I figured this would do a good job. Set up was fairly easy, I have it place in 8-9 inches of water, it took about 2-3 days of break-in process. The collection chamber fills up with dark green protein every 4-5 days so I know it's doing a great job. The construction is very nice and solid and I like the fact that the pump is integrated in the in the bottom of the skimmer to save space. I have used octopus skimmers and still do on my other set ups and this one is built and cleaning just as good. The other thing I like is the gate style valve that really lets you fine tune this skimmer. Removing the collection chamber is easily done by just twisting it about 1/4 turn, the rest of the unit disassembles easily for full cleaning. I honestly didn't find anything bad about this skimmer. They also provide you with an addition needle wheel impeller and magnet and an extra O-ring for the collection chamber. I am very happy with this skimmer and would recommend it to anyone with a 75g to 200+g system.

Worked for a while, but the pump just completely stopped working one day. It is still supposedly under warranty, but the company has not responded to my email. Although the product works while functioning, I'm giving it 1 star because there has been no response from the company to back up their warranty when it stopped working.

Worked really well for three months then the motor died. Would only give it one star because I couldn't get ahold of the manufacture Luckily Amazon refunded my purchase! (Thank you Amazon)

Product is fantastic! We bought it to try the brand out. I'm impressed with the build and quality in martials. We've had it about a week and we're getting a nice dry stinky skim. A+ for such a fantastic price and works just as good if not better than the high dollar brand name skimmers!

Got this as a gift for my husband who is a salt water tank enthusiast and he loves it! He says it's the bast skimmer he's had! I highly recommend it!

I bought my g3000 skimmer 3 years ago at reefapolooza. I got it for dirt cheap, because it was their floor model for the show. I wanted a better skimmer, but my budget was tight. I was about to leave the show dissapointed because I didn't get a skimmer on my budget, but found go aquarium on my way out the door. I brought it home and was immediately impressed with the quality of it at the price point. It worked much better than the expensive, broken, name brand skimmer that I was replacing. I've had it for 3 years now. I broke a pump after about a year and a half. I emailed them, and they sent me a replacement with no questions asked, free of charge. That pump lasted a year and a half, and just broke. I got great customer service from them last time, and knew I was out of warranty. I emailed them and they offered to send me another. I said I'd pay for it though, and asked for two. I have a very mature system, and many tiny critters. I blame the pump problems on the critters jamming them up, and not on the quality of the pumps. If you're looking for a good skimmer at a great price, this is the one. I run this skimmer on a total 140 gallon system.
