Very nice and sharp- def worth it esp for price
This works very well surprisingly for being so inexpensive! Was sharp on first use and only used it once so far so cut wallet edges. Hoping it stays sharp. I will say this knife type and shape was easier to trim my edges vs what I used to do/use

With a little elbow action this is a great knife !
This is a skiving knife but if you want this to work like the top name brands , you’re mean to do some sanding .. on the bevel side facing down. You’re shooting for a 10 dreg angle . Blue tape a round pice of nylon on the handle so you can redress that angle. Start with 80 grit , marker up the blade . I did mine on a granite tile and the area that I’m sanding is only touching the blade . The nylon spacers is wrapped with blue tape . It takes time to redress the angle . Once that has a burr on the opposite side switch to 150 grit and repeat the process. Use a fine grit stone to clean the burr off the back . Then go to 180 grit so the same . After I got to 220-320 I started using the sand paper on the bevel on the back. I used water on the wet/ dry sandpaper. I went all the way to 15000 grit . Front and back , make sure on the back you hold the blade flat to the sandpaper. Keep the same amount of pressure on the blade fro start to finish. Onlt the cutting edge of the blade will be on the sandpaper . Once you get to 15000 grit do it bevel side and back 3-4 times . Your done wit the sandpaper. Now on to the strop board buy one or make one and use green stick compound on the smooth side of the leather. 20 times on the bevels side and the same on the back holding it flat . Then 15 , 10, 5 ,1 . It should be very sharp . Now this will shive shuck or thin leather , I’ve done four knives the cheap ones and a planer blade . Or you can spend the extra coin a buy a higher tagged knife and hit it with a strop and your set. Good luck , thanks for reading my story 😎

Good to learn technique, just be sure to strop approx. every 2 min.
Obviously you get what you pay for. This is great for beginners that don’t want to spend to much money at first. If you keep a strop next to your working project, you can get great results! However, let me be clear, you have to strop/sharpen this knife after nearly every single cut. It’s able to obtain a very sharp edge, but it goes dull almost immediately. Again, you get what you pay for so can’t give this a bad review, just be sure you understand that this quality of knife does not hold a sharp edge for a long time. Also, I gave 4/5 stars not because the the knife doesn’t hold an edge, but because it arrived with a (very very small) knick in the blade. I don’t think this affected the performance of the knife, but it does show the somewhat relaxed quality control of this company. I recommend this to anyone trying their hand at leather craft. If you can get clean results with this, you’ll be outstanding with a higher end knife.

Amazing Knife!
Great product! Solidly built, VERY sharp. Helpful in so many situations. Skiving is a breeze, but can also be used as a lead knife. Example: Using a utility knife can be great for cutting, but can slip while dragging and ruin your cut. With this knife, you can line it up along your marked line and push down for a nice, clean line. And it cuts clean through because of how sharp it is, even with thick leather. It’s amazing how much easier cutting straight lines has become. And when skiving, it works incredibly. Even the thinnest skive is super easy with this blade. Great product!

Great knife for the price
Mine arrived sharp as a razor. Other reviewers have mentioned that theirs was dull or chipped. Mine is scary sharp. You can see the grind marks on the edge but it is still extremely sharp. I'll have to be very careful handling this knife.

Not very sharp
It was not sharp when it arrived and the blade needed done work on sharpening stones. It works better now but definitely it's cheaper steel that doesn't hold the edge for long. Good tool if you're in a bind and need something quick.

Good straight-bladed sciving knife
As far as straight-bladed knives go, this is a fine knife. It holds a fine edge, works well when used on a stone working surface, and is well-proportioned with its handle engaging effortlessly with the palm. That said, I prefer a French skiving knife with a rounded blade for the majority of the work.
