Not enough real recipes, more about assembly and pantry staples
I really wanted to love this book and fully expected to cook it cover to cover. Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed in the recipes. So many of them were simply about assembly (I do love a good grazing board with a glass of wine on occasion but I don't need 4 pages of editorial to teach me how to do these). As a busy working mom (and foodie, and accomplished home cook, with not enough time but a huge desire to eat well, cook well, and provide interesting food for my family) I embraced the author's storytelling and couldn't wait to "dig in" to the recipes. Aside some common sense advice that a more novice cook may not know (or have not learned yet) about how to stock your pantry and what staples to have on hand, most of the recipes did not translate to family cooking. There were at least four recipes for interesting toasts....very instagram friendly but not a bounty of recipes or meals. I did like the emphasis on using leftover vegetables to make a large pot of soup and to try to reuse ingredients but that isn't a particular cooking tip or secret. Many other reviewers raved about this book, I just found the content to be thin (a fruit salad of cut up fruits sprinkled with lime juice and Maldon salt- sounds delicious but not an actual recipe). For those looking for a really dense cookbook of weeknight recipes with great ingredients I suggest Melissa Clark's "DINNER" instead.

A MUST-HAVE for every family!!
I have to admit, I had moved away from my cooking days a bit, as our kids have gotten older and life a little crazier. I was feeling in a rut, uninspired, finding myself making the same dishes over and over. My husband was in the same boat -- he would do tacos one night, and I would do chicken and rice the next. Ugh.So, when I saw Every Day is Saturday come across my Facebook feed, it piqued my interest. I did want every day to feel like Saturday, and in fact, my Saturday could use some inspiration as well. Well, what I found is that THIS COOKBOOK IS LIFE CHANGING!! As soon as I started reading it, I was immediately inspired, by the author's beautiful and relatable writing style and the gorgeous photographs. But, what really hooked me was the recipes. The recipes are full of recognizable ingredients that I can find easily in my neighborhood store, and in many cases, I already own. So far, my husband and I tried at least one dish from every section of the cookbook and everything has been EASY to make and absolutely DELICIOUS!I've decided I love a cookbook that feels like part story, part instruction, and part inspiration, and this one is the perfect combo. It really is a must-have!

Mount watering!
First off, I am a fan of Sarah Copland's cookbooks so I had pre-ordered this one once I found out about it! Her two previous endeavors of deliciousness, Feast and The Newlyweds Cookbook, were/are amazing so I knew this one could not fail! Once again she delivers with not only easy to follow-spot on recipes, but divine photos that make you want to like the page! I am all about seeing what the finish product should look like and with her perfect guidance mine have always looked just as perfect! This cookbook truly makes easy weekend living everyday. I love that she always adds a "pantry list" for the staples to always have on hand, it is a big help for those of us that need help in that area. Plus she gives you wonderful tips on what to use those bits of things leftover for - who knew!I think one of the best parts of Sarah's cookbooks is that she tells wonderful stories to go with many of the recipes, parts of her life of cooking, from a girl to a grown-up, its such a delight to read and it kind of calms you down if you are a fearful cook :-) The stories bring magic to the photos too. The other day when I received my copy, I thumbed through to see the photos and stopped at many, but one caught my eye, A Gourmands Working Lunch, just through the photo alone I saw things I knew I had on hand but never thought to put them together like that! what a wonderful late night dinner let alone lunch! She makes you get creatively thinking, bringing back fun in cooking. It never fails, her cookbooks help put back the joy in cooking, slowing down to enjoy it with family and friends, which is truly where everyday becomes Saturday.

Celebrating weekend-style cooking all week long!
From the spectacular photos, to the stories that draw you in, Sarah Copeland knows her way around the kitchen and a great cookbook!I was super hesitant to believe that I could ever make risotto - let alone on a weeknight, but Sarah’s instructions made everything so easy to do.I cannot wait for tonight’s dinner so that I can try out another delicious recipe!

Delicious Food, Beautiful Photos!
I have cooked three things in this book so far and have LOVED every recipe! I was asked to make the corn chowder specifically, and I am not a huge corn fan, but I could NOT stop eating this soup! It was rich, creamy, smoky and sweet and the relish put it over the top!The recipes themselves are easy to follow, and the author makes a lot of allowances for substitutions if you are cooking for anyone with allergies or sensitivities, which I don't personally have, but am mindful of when I'm hosting friends and family.I also love the little biographical tidbits that help this read a bit like a personal essay, so you feel like you're friends with the author. And the pictures are darling! I can't wait to make the GIANT plate of spaghetti and eat it just like the boy in the photo, gobbling every bite. Can't recommend enough!

The chocolate loaf is the best!
Sarah Copeland's new cookbook Everyday is Saturday is beyond. The beautiful pictures, the thoughtful book layout, Sarah's whitty story telling and the secret pop of neon yellow creates a super modern cookbook.I have baked the Chocolate Loaf, which has quickly become a family fav. The Chocolate Chip Cookies For Modern Times with just the right amount of almond flour really elevate the classics.I can't wait to keep reading Sarah's stories and baking from Everyday is Saturday.
