Works on Mac Pro Tower 2012 12 core
I bought this card for my 2012 Mac Pro tower. It doesn't indicate on the webpage it works on macs so I bought it on the off chance it would work but with no startup apple logo.Once it got to the desktop it would load the Radeon drivers which are built in to 10.11 El Capitan.I'm using the hdmi port plugged into a new 4K Sony 49" TV, I can get the top resolution on this card at 30Hz.Next step down is 1080p at 60Hz, which makes everything too small.Next step for me is to try and find the resolution between the two, 1600 x 1200 perhaps.4 k picture is great, the text wasn't wasn't clear at first, very fuzzy but with some adjustment on the tv menu I managed to get it looking as clear as possible. When using 4K resolution because of the Hz speed you will notice the mouse lags a little. All in all it works on my Mac Pro, not too fussed about the seeing the logo on startup as long as it's stable.

Excellent future proofing
Great bit of kit if a little overpriced on initial release, ideal for multimonitor set up and the 3GB of VRAM will keep this bad boy going for years to come. Get one now! (Fit's inside a Fractal Design Refine R3 no problems)The card is near silent in my case and cannot be heard over the case fans even when under load.BF3/Skyrim/SwtoR all play at max.

price and performance
Amazing card for its price, it beats the 680 from NVIDIA anyday - both price and performance.Able to use Sapphire's own Trixx to OC to 1200/1700 at 1.3 voltage, or 1125/1650 at default voltage. About 20-30% faster than my 5970, runs MUCH cooler, and has no microstuttering/x-fire driver issues to worry about. After being OC'ed, this card is approximately the performance of a 6990 and neck to neck with a 680 with 1 gig more ram to play with. AMD also has better multimonitor support and arguably better 2D picture quality.Default voltage temps runs about 60 with load and 36 idle, 1.3 voltage runs about 70/45. However, even at 70% fan speed, it's only borderline bothersome and the fan speeds never gets to annoying levels at default voltage and automatic fan speeds.Contrast to what some people say, the fan is pretty sturdy. It stays on the video card tightly and never wobbles or worries me. Overall, card has a high build quality feel to it.

Saphire Radeon HD 7970
Received the card the other day and have installed it. What a little beauty! No issues straight out the box, and software is pretty good and self explanatory. May have to start playing with the OC software at some point, however that is what popped my old card :( but on the plus, reading the review on the Tech Radar site where they have played with the OC they managed to reach the limit of the GPU and memory clock speeds without going above the hardware capabilities and running the Windows Experience Index it is hitting the 7.9 anyway.Only minor downfall with this is there is no back plate, so make sure you keep those wires and connectors tied back!

The best card you can buy at the moment
I had 2 6970's running xfire before I bought this beauty. I was not happy with the performance of xfire, so I bought a single card. As soon as you put it in and turn on the computer you notice....Nothing thats right no heat coming out the back and no noise, If you had owned the 6970 you'd think the card you just bought was broken.Anyway, these are the important bitsUp to 925MHz Engine Clock3GB GDDR5 Memory1375MHz Memory ClockSo 5 min later I have clocked it too 1000MHz Engine and 1500MHz Memory by using AMD std overdrive, no need for voltage changes.A quick Demo using furmark,BEFORE ANY TESTINGGPU Clock 300MHzMemory 150 MhzTemp 28 Degrees CFan Speed 20.0%GPU Usage 0%Now Furmark High Settings xTreme Burn testGPU Clock 1000MHzMemory 1500 MhzTemp 70 Degrees CFan Speed 33.0%GPU Usage 100%When I ran the same test on the 6970 it hit a whopping 93 Degrees C with a fan speed of around 75%This card is better, super quiet and runs way cooler

Nfs: The Run gut 100 fps möglich. (ohne V-Sync natürlich)

Carte impressionnante.
