Visions of Japan: Kawase Hasui's Masterpieces

This book has a lot of large popular prints of Hasui. I am happy with my purchase.

Beautiful examples of his work 😊

Packed full of works, this book not only shows each artwork without over colouring (as happens a lot with art books) but gives you a lot of information about each showing you not only the vision Hasaui had, but how he accomplished them.

This book is a visual treat. The image formatting , scale and printing quality are very good , so from an art appreciation perspective I can certainly recommend this book.This period of crossover between the old traditional Japanese woodcut , and the influence of Western modernism that influenced it is extremely attractive , not least in the way that the Japanese style ,colour and design sensibility is completely maintained !As a huge fan of the animated films by Studio Ghibli [eg. Spirited Away 2001] , I can see the strong influence artists such as Kawase Hasui would have had on Ghibli.Truly wonderful , magical , powerful art,

This book is excellent. The package took a week to prepare and send, an trackin info was useless, but it arrived and it's great!

As a big fan of books that you can use to legitimately look at the pictures, as described by other reviews you will not be disappointed with the quality of the printed images in this book and the essays are very insightful.

Wonderful selection of Hasui's prints well presented

An absolutely gorgeous collection of Hasui's prints. My knowledge of Japanese printmaking covered everything up to and including Hiroshige, so I bought this rather speculatively. I am so pleased I did, the prints are absolutely wonderful - I just wish I could afford the complete woodblock prints book as well.
