Paint Brush Set for Artists, Professionals and Kids of All Ages by Chameleon Art Supplies

I just got this brush set today, so this review is a bit of a "first impressions". I will update this if it is needed.Handles- LONG! I was definitely not expecting the length. Not a bad thing, just wasn't expecting it.Finish- Smooth, glossy, but not slippery- easy to maintain even a light grip.Balance- Not something you might consider, but they are very well balanced. Even the largest #12 brush.Weight- SUPER light! I was actually taken back by how light even the large brushes are (they LOOK far heavier than they are)Ferules- Look to be well crimped- securely holding the bristles.Bristles- They were only slightly stiff from manufacturing, and after a gentle bending, they became super soft. Tips are well formed.Case- Soft but stiff. Seems that it will last a long long time (and longer for me- I take care of my things) and do a great job protecting the brushes. The velcro used to lift the brushes upward is strong. The "pockets" that the brushes sit in are larger than needed, which is PERFECT. I intend to store some of my other brushes next to these (which was a secret hope I had when I ordered them).Dimensions- Brushes average length is 12.25" and the case is 14.5" long, 5.5" wide, & 1" deep. Great size for transporting.Zipper- Operates smoothly, looks to be of good quality, and they added a nylon pull string to the metal pull handle. We'll see how it goes and will update if this has any problems.Overall- If you look at my other reviews, I am a technology loving ceramics painter, and sometimes the two overlap. I'm a stickler for quality, and am quick to update when issues arise. This set was larger than I anticipated (larger in size, not count), but that is just fine. We'll see how they perform on unpainted (but fired- bisque) ceramics, canvas, and occasionally, sheet metal when doing custom computer case work.**Update** - 5 months of useFive months of pretty heavy use, and all is well. I take good care of my brushes, washing them and using pink brush soap which has a conditioner in it, but still, quality brushes go a long way! None of the brushes have broken. The ferules are staying in place. The bristles are soft and staying in their intended shape. I even let my wife cut in around a window in a room with one. It did superbly with the heavy texture of the wall (knock-down). Best 30 bucks I've ever spent (well, as far as art goes!).

These paint brushes were suggested to me by Amazon. I saw the low price and immediately clicked on them. After some further research, I decided to buy them. They arrived very soon, and I was really excited to try them out. The only problem was when I went to use one of the brushes, the whole ferrule/bristle part fell off. Naturally I was frustrated with this, and I decided to email Chameleon Art Supplies about what happened. Although it took a while for them to respond (probably because it was during the holidays), they did get back to me. I cannot commend them enough! The person who responded was SO apologetic and she thanked me for letting her know about the issue. They even sent me a whole new set of brushes! I am really impressed with Chameleon because of their incredible customer service, and when I actually used the brushes, they were really nice! I've been using them for acrylic and watercolor painting, and I love them more and more with each use! The ONLY complaint I have is that a few bristles have come out when I've been painting, but other than that, these are stellar! I HIGHLY recommend this product!

I wrote a positive review on these brushes when I first received them, and hoped they really meant it when they said "Lifetime Guarantee." Of course you never know about a guarantee until you actually have a problem, then I HAD A PROBLEM.I had a problem with two of my brushes, so I emailed a picture of the two damaged brushes at their email address: [email protected], and I requested replacement. I expected them to replace only the two brushes, but instead they are sending me a whole new set for free. I don't have to pay for or hassle with shipping the old set back to them - they let me keep the original set. They get 5 stars for not only putting out a great product and standing behind it but making it easy for the customer to utilize the guarantee. Great design, durable- does just what I wanted. My wife didn't know I had ordered this so she picked one up at the ubiquitous super sell-everything store and she picked up the exact same item for about 40% of the cost I paid here. I guess once you account for shipping and having the convenience of home delivery maybe that's OK as it isn't a really high cost item anyway. I just didn't realize it could be bought locally at all. So, if you really want it today, or are at the store anyway...just so you know. The item itself is just what I wanted, though- and just as described. Good design and very functional.

I love the brushes so far, but I've only used it once. None of the fibers shed while I was painting, and the case is pretty cool, although I was expecting a better quality case with the price. The only actual problem I had was the condition of the brushes when I opened it. Most of them were a little frayed and had a few hairs that were longer than the shape of the rest of them. I had to dip all of them in water, reform them, and clip the strays that were in too bent to ever go back to shape as well as the super long ones. Again, for the price, I was expecting better condition, but overall, the quality is pretty great.
