I particularly like this book because it has many exercises to help the reader explore and tame their "inner critic" as well as to increase the reader's awareness and transform their thinking. Awareness is the first step to personal transformation.

Great ideas and exercises clients can use with me in therapy or on their own!
This book is the perfect tool-it has great exercises for working on self esteem. The exercises are great for working together with my clients in a session or for them to do on their own. I love this book!

Useful for counseling practice
I bought this to use with clients to supplement cognitive behavioral counseling for self-esteem. Some of the exercises will only be a good fit for certain clients, but the workbook gives you flexibility to choose. I ask them to purchase the accompanying book and then use these activities as "homework" for the week. For the price it's a good buy!

A quick way to get an overview of the book!
As a licensed professional counselor, this little book cut right to the heart of what a lot of people are grappling. I bought the book as well for more background, but this is an excellent resource!

Quick read but purchase their other book first
This book is a quick read and offers valuable tools, but I recommend getting their other book (Self-Esteem: A Proven Program of Cognitive Techniques for Assessing, Improving, and Maintaining Your Self-Esteem) first. It offers more foundational information that can be enhanced by this book.

i like this book and it is easy to read. it has helpful sugestions. the book is in exelant shape for being a used book. i would recomend the seller for anyone in the market to buy used books.

This book is great if you like to make changes one at a time and build on improvement. You can spend more or less time on each segment as needed. I like not having to wade through a lot of writing to get to the exercises and pertinent information to help me feel better, so this book is perfect for me.
