Chalky not creamy
Neither very good nor bad. The texture is chalky and consistency is brittle. It needs to be used on a pastel paper, cannot be used on an ordinary paper. Finished painting needs a fixative.

The Gallery Squares Soft Pastel are great for light pastel coloring and can be used to put on a darker color by shaving off some of the sticks with a razor blade and dampening lightly. This method works some what like water coloring and gives great results. This pack of sticks has a good verity of colors and will mix greatly to broaden your color base. I highly recommend this product for light pastel coloring. As usual Amazon will give you a great price.
