EFAC Joint Health Advance Formula for Dogs & Cats (125 g)

My poor beagle, he's 6 years old. He just started limping his hind leg. I had no idea what was wrong with him. I have seen him limp before but he would shake it off and it would be better. But it started off the past two weeks gradually now that i think about it. He used to always sleep with me, but then suddenly, he stopped jumping over the bed. i heard him whine at night, but i intially felt he just wanted to go out and play so i slept it off. For the next two days, i noticed that he slept on the floor more often and never jumped up. then i started taking him for a walk and he just wouldn't go. he was limping. he slept for two whole days not able to turn around well...you could imagine how distraught i was, trying to google everything. I imagined the worse (knee cap problem and hip problem). took him to the vet and he gave some rimadyl. it helped initially, he got a little better. but then i came across this product and cosequin. i ordered both and started administering him the tablets. to my surprise, within couple of hours he was so happy. I never saw this. but i kept my fingers crossed. this is the 3rd day and wow, i mean, wow the results have been so impressive. he started sleeping with me again and he's jumping all over. i keep getting angry at him for jumping, but gosh i missed him so much i couldn't have been happier.

Have been using this supplement for almost a year for my Pom-Chi (9 y/o) and Doxie (13 y/o) for arthritis. When my vet was unable to get this product again and wanted me to try something new, I panicked. Went on line and found it on Amazon and immediately ordered. My Pom-Chi went through a severe crisis in January and wasn't able to even stand without screaming in pain. He wound up at UT Vet Hospital for 3 days undergoing every test possible. Nothing was found but he was put on several pain meds. My vet added EFAC, Omega 3 to his daily diet. So far, he has been pain free and I notice his back legs are better than even before his episode. I'm a firm believer EFAC has helped with his problem and am giving it to my Dachshund as a preventive measure since she is getting older. Would recommend for any dogs having joint issues.

Just started my elderly, arthritic cats on this, so too early to comment on its effectiveness (thus the reason for 3 stars). BUT... My advice is to EASE your animal, at least cats, onto this powder; otherwise, it could easily cause them stomach upset and diarrhea. I started out with double the dose (for animal up to 30 lbs), per the instructions, for faster response due to the pain caused by their arthritis. This resulted in diarrhea for two of them after about 4 days. Manufacturer ought to advise pet owners to ramp up to the double dose amount over a period of 7-10 days.In addition to arthritis and skin conditions, I can see how this product might help an animal (particularly old ones) with chronic constipation, as well, much the same as fish oil for humans with constipation.I have high hopes for this product. There are so few effective remedies for kitties with painful arthritis. I read where one clinical study showed that 90% of older cats have some form/level of arthritis, so they need help, too!

We adopted a large Golden Retriever, age 8, with hip displasia, quite advanced. He got so bad that he could not go down 3 steps without help and needed to be lifted back up the steps. He couldn't squat to go to the bathroom and the limp was getting worse. My vet recommended the EFAC, saying that he had seen research that indicated that it was very good. I give the dog 1 and 1/2 scoops in his food in the morning.Three days into using it, he stopped limping. Within two weeks he was running and going up and down stairs with ease. I have seen no side effects and we now have a dog that is out of pain and we couldn't be happier. We recommend this to anyone with a dog with hip joint problems.

Within a couple of weeks Pepsi, my Lab, has gone from acting like an old dog, limping and aching, to being playful again. I had heard stories about this product and wanted to see if it really worked. It is expensive but now I know it is worth it. It took a few weeksbefore I saw a real change. I put the powder in hamburger. Every day Pepsi goes to the refrigerator and scratches on the door, not a good thing, to let me know she wants her treat. Whether she knows this will help her or she loves the burger, either way she gulps it right down. She is my friend and I have to do the best for her and this product is by far the best so far.

What is a very effective combination for dog hip dysplasia is this plus Glucosamine with Chondroitin pills from Costco (human grade - make sure it has Chondroitin otherwise it doesn't work as well). If you need more help than that, consider getting adequate shots at your vet's office. My friend gave her dog the pill that vets recommend (starts with an R) and he felt great for a month and then suddenly died so we're basically trying everything except for that and so far so good.

We are seeing great results in our young golden retriever rescue who has some leg issues. While waiting to see if she'll naturally overcome these "growing pains" (as recommended by our vets), she is now doing really well. She rarely limps now after walks or a swim - and she's not so tired as before. In fact, she's quite the rascal again! Our vet started our aging Lab on EFAC. He was having problems walking and going up stairs. We doubled the dose to "kick start" him and continue to see real results. Loving his daily walk he refused to give them up, he was only walking a half mile. After using EFAC Joint Health for a little over 3 months, he is now walking 1 1/2-2 miles daily and once again trying to walk up stairs. We're very happy and have recommended the produce to friends.
