Because they do not include the plastic tray other filters are attached to, I had to drop a star.I was upset when I saw the size of the filters because they are smaller that the filters I've bought for my Catit Daisy fountain in the past. Since I needed to change the filter, and did not want to spend the outrageous price at PetSmart or Petco, I tried using one, but it did not work properly. Then I realize the reason was that the other filters have a plastic tray that the filter is glued into. Since I needed to change it I tore the old filter out of the plastic tray and cleaned the tray up and these filters fit in the tray perfectly.Now that I have a tray that I can clean when I change the filter I will continue to purchase these because the filters themselves are much better than the ones I've bought prior to these, even the Catit filters. The previous filters leaked the carbon into the fountain, these do not. So, if your willing to clean out the plastic tray from your previous filter and reuse it, these are a better quality and a better price than the other filters out there.

We’ve been using these for a while now (months) as a genetic replacement for our 2 cat “fountains”.Was surprised that there is no frame for the filter so there is a bit of a gap when it’s placed in the reservoir. It would seem that this would allow much of the water to go unfiltered. We have hairy kitties so catching it is important to me. I simply cut the filter out of brand ‘x’ carrier and popped the Hellosam filter in. Fits perfect and works like a champ.Hard to say if the activated carbon and resin make a big difference but what I do know is that our cats drink, and drink a lot, and that’s priceless. If you’ve ever had a cat with a urinary blockage, you know what I mean ;)Saved us $$ and cats drink so will continue to buy this product in the future.

I’ve been buying these filters for years. The filters work great on my dog’s water fountain. They serve their purpose and they are easy to use.

You have to have a plastic from an old filter and remove the insert. Then this will fit. This is cheaper. Took me a minute then I figured it out.

These filters are okay, but I will not buy again. Only has a small amount of charcoal in each area of the filter.

I needed these as a replacement for my cats fountain. The filters work great, just like the original. I would have given the product 5 stars if it wasn't for the excessive packaging for such a small item.

These filters appear to be identical to originals. The description mentions that the filters “minimize risk of parasites.” There is 0.0% chance that a fabric filter with a little charcoal can filter out parasites, but the filters do what they’re designed to do: filter out pet hair to preserve life of the little pump (also possible that they *may* slightly improve taste of water the first day or two bc of charcoal).

Cats are messy and nasty. It catches all the cat food they somehow drop into it. I toss them after a month of use. Just wish they would come out with a reusable one that could be cleaned and able to add charcoal. Only downside it seems a bit wasteful.
