I paint on canvas and outline everything with black. Years ago I used india ink and old Speedball pens for my black lines. I tried magic markers, but they weren't as dark. Lately I've used a paint brush, but it's very time-consuming. These paint pens are amazing. They create a gorgeous black line quickly and easily. Definitely easier than a brush, and the black is nearly as thick as black acrylic in a paintbrush. Another reviewer complained about the paint running out of the pen tip. I have not had that problem whatsoever with these pens. However, I also bought a set of fine tip paint pens (a different brand), and the paint ran out the tip...so I kept shaking the pen and when the paint inside got mixed up better, it quit running out, and it began working perfectly.

i was trying to compare these to the sharpie oil paint markers & these are sooooo great. they’re nearly identical to the sharpie markers, they smell a little stronger but everything else is nearly the same i just started using them so i’ll update when i figure out if they outlast the sharpie markers :)update: i’m almost through my box and two of the markers stopped working like immediately after opening them & using them & when i tried to fix it they just kinda burst everywhere. they go further than the sharpie markers but i don’t think i’ll buy them again just because they’re much messier and haven’t been nearly as easy to use. they might end up as my back up, but definitely not my first choice above sharpie pens at this point :-/

Perfect choice for my stain glass window project. Easy to prime and I have had no issues with flow. No runs or globs. Dries fast. I want to order some in fine point for detail work.Update: I added a finished painting to show how the black paint pen shows with stain glass paints.

As an old electrical inspector of 35+ years,, I have seen a lot of attempts to use Magic Markers and Marking Tapeto provide important information on outdoor electrical gear. Most Fail in the first year.. These Paint Pens fill animportant place in the industry to provide permanent information that is important to the customer and emergency personnel as well. I will be ordering more and handing them out to the electricians as door prizes at class.

I really enjoyed working with these oil based paint pens. They worked well, went on smooth, produced crisp clean lines, no bleeding (on the painted wood, minor bleeding on the unfinished wood - see picture). This paint dried very quickly, which is a major plus when doing a large project because there was no smudging. This project took 3 paint pens to complete. The pens still had some paint in them when I finished, but they were running very low and did not produce the sharp crisp color that it did at the beginning. Overall, I am extremely happy with this product!

I used these to paint the fading numbers on my brick mailbox and they worked well without much pressure or leakage. The price was fair and the delivery on time. They are made on Japan so this is also a plus !

Once you get the tip wicked out on these oil based paint pens, they do a great job. Quick to dry with tolerable VOC, I am putting them to the test with other permanent nursery markers. See how they do with shelf life and sun time.

My son and I are always so excited when we discover painted rocks when out for walks and I thought it would be fun to start painting and hiding rocks as well. It’s my first time painting rocks and I really liked the large selection of colors and also the metallic sheen to some of the pens, it’s a good variety and they’re odorless and dry quickly. Overall I’m really happy with the purchase.
