Be careful
The gloves really do work with extremely hot things. I first used when making dutch oven bread, I preheated my cast iron pan for half hour at 450. I used the gloves to take the lid off, and again to remove the pan with the bread after baking - felt no heat at all. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because it's sometimes difficult to anticipate steam might be involved or liquid spills. They clearly state they won't work if steam or liquid comes into play, and I knew that, but still a small amount of water did spill from a shallow pot I had removed from my smoker. Although it was just a small amount the burn was intense. Much more so than if I had been using a pot holder, and you need to completely remove the glove rather than just moving a pot holder to another area, so it can be dangerous and for that reason I might not be using them as much. Just a warning, if there is any chance of liquid coming in contact with the glove you will be badly burnt.

No more potholders.....
I bought these for my husband as we are now cooking at home and some of the recipes call for the frying pan to go into the oven - and then come out again. But the other day I was cooking and had to remove a roasting pan with a five pound leg of lamb from my top oven. It is a dicey situation using potholders but was as simple as could be with the gloves on. They were, of course, a little large for me, but I couldn't have asked for anything better to help me get the pan from the oven. I was better able to balance the pan and felt more confident setting it down as there was no potholder stuck beneath it. GREAT GLOVES!

These Gloves Work!
I bought a pair of these gloves about one year ago - full price - no promotional incentives. I would recommend them to anyone who cooks with cast iron skillets and dutch ovens. I use them almost every day with cast iron skillets and dutch ovens. I have found that it is easier to remove very hot lids and very hot skillets with these gloves than with traditional potholders. So far, I have never experienced a burn with these gloves and I have never felt rushed to set a skillet or dutch oven down to avoid being burned. If these ever wear out, I will purchase another set.

Big hands? No problem!
I used these for the first time yesterday and was very pleased with the fit and flexibility. I have very large hands and can never seem to find gloves that I can get my hands into. These proved to be a tight fit but after pulling them on and off several times between handling the hot parts of my weber smoker they seemed to loosen up a little. They are quite thick and worked very well in protecting me while handling the hot air vents. I also liked that they can be worn on either hand so I could just grab one when needed and not worry which hand I was going to use. I would highly recommend these for anyone who works with hot ovens or smokers etc.

Full use of my hands when retrieving hot items!
I would give it a 5, but my husband is less sold, so I can't get rid of some old pot holders (ones he bought), so I am giving it a 4. He doesn't think the gloves insulate from heat enough. But my experience has been that they are fine, and I LOVE how I have full dexterity with these gloves as opposed to bulky, clunky, awkward potholders that you stick you hand into. I am always feeling like I am about to drop something with those, or I get burned in the process of trying to get the potholder around a pan edge. These are the BOMB! Love them.

One nice feature is that one can use a glove on ...
We have been using these grill master gloves for several months. they are well worth every cent we paid for them. One nice feature is that one can use a glove on either hand. There are many times when one will want a gloved hand and an ungloved had, i.e. when you hold a roasting pan in a non-dominant hand and a thermometer in the other hand, you can just grab a glove. The only problem we have noticed, and this applies to all the gloves of this type we have used , is that they wear out faster than the old type oven mitts. Still I'd choose them over the old mitts every time.

protects from the heat
Originally bought a pair for my husband, they worked so well I purchased a second pair for my son. My Husband has had his pair for 5 or 6 years , they have held up great through numerous washing, well worth the money

No heat at all
I'm not much of a 5/5 person, so the 4/5 means I really like these a lot. The heat is non-existent. I touched (accidentally) a 500+ degree grill recently and didn't feel even an ounce of warmth. I often smoke large cuts of meat and use a roasting rack, thus requiring more than one hand to carry the finished product into the house, so having both hands protected is a big help. Also, it's really awesome that both gloves will fit on either hand.
