Grandeslam Carbo Strike Match Fishing Reel

Not the world's best reel. However for the money it is well worth it. Been out of fishing for 25 years and wanted some cheap tackle to take my grandson fishing. Great value for money. Would recommend if you are a beginner and don't know if you will like fishing. It won't break the bank

this was purchased for a seven year old to replace the rel that came with his first fishing rod and broke on the first outing. This should stand up to his enthusiastic ministrations.

Looks cool works fine and priced even better. Great delivery and service. However. The mechanical or internal design is flat out crappy. It embodies the definition of cheap. Basically: it works fine as long as it works. Trying to change a spool turned sour when struggling with release button whole axis rod came out and ripped some innards out along with it. Brake mechanism went offline as result as it all depended on a spring the diameter of fine hair. No manual was no help. Domino effect, etc, etc

Considering I paid under £10 for this item It delivered to the expected standard. The line that comes on the spool is pretty poor and I would recommend that this is replaced.It's great having the rear drag but on this item it is very staggered when releasing line, also, unless the line is relatively tight when reeling in the bail arm winds line on to the body of the spool and not the designated space for the line :-( It's all very manageable any would do for a reel to keep as a spare in case of emergency but would not recommend as an everyday reel.

Lovely reels, much better than my old ones which have seized up and they cost a lot more money. Great value for money.

I sent it to my homestay's son and he likes it very much . He loves fishing and satisfied with it

Don't be put off, this is a thoroughly decent reel for the money. Will be ordering another as so impressed.
