If I could give zero stars I would. It pains me to write this, because I wanted to smell my way back through history to the Belle Epoch and late Victoriana. I was so excited when I opened the bottle! My entire family was home. It had gotten such great reviews everywhere I looked online! Well. It must have sold its soul to Satan for those reviews because as soon as I unscrewed the cap and removed the seal? DEAR GOD. It smells SO BAD!!!!!! My entire family began gagging. I accidentally spilled some on the counter and we screamed! Just several drops were enough to make a person with a strong stomach toss their cookies. I could put my finger on it at first. But the smell was sickeningly familiar. Then it hit me! Embalming fluid! Mixed with that cloying incense the priest uses at a funeral mass! What I’m the heck?!?? I ran as fast as I could with it outside, and chucked it into the trash! I apologized silently to the garbage man. Then the smell was stuck in my nose hairs. I showered. I put Vaseline up my nose. But still, when I read my kids their bedtime story that night, my son said, “Mommy I still smell it. It stinks so bad. Please move farther away.” It’s buzzard puke. This stuff is buzzard puke. And now I’m really scratching my head thinking about the Victorians dousing themselves in this horrendous liquid puke…
