my kind of creepy movie
Okay, this movie isn't perfect, but, it was such a refreshing change from so much of what passes for "horror" these days that I gave it 5 stars. Sure, I wish a few brief and derivative moments weren't in there (one of which was so reminiscent of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, almost word for word, that it brought the story to a complete awkward halt for me. Fortunately, it was a VERY brief halt) Also, I feel the format of the storytelling removes the suspense of who survived. Mind you, it still leaves the suspense of WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO THE OTHERS? which is almost as creepy. Except for one a-bit-too-special-effects-y shot, the fleeting views of "it" work SO WELL, right up there with a similar method used in the films REC and REC2. However, the star of this is the editing and the location (in a way reminiscent of the equally creepy film SESSION 9. Anyway, what I loved about this movie is the ebb and flow of the suspense, the overwhelming sense of dread (love that creepy music in the opening credits). If you need all questions answered and mysteries explained by the end of a movie, this is NOT for you. If you need characters fighting back while spouting one-liners, this is NOT for you. If you need to see violence and gore being inflicted on people, this is NOT for you. (just glimpsing the aftermath, using my imagination and feeling as helpless as the rest of the characters was enough for me here) If you would like to end a movie feeling unsettled yet not necessarily cheated, then you might want to check this out. I'm a big fan of bleak (but not oppressive) movies with bleak endings. This is one such movie.

Good film. Very enjoyable.
While the movie was very good, I do have to give the award for "Most Annoying Female Character in a Horror Movie" to Natasha. Dear Lord, you should not be rooting for the "protagonist" to die.

Great Horror Flick
Umbrella Entertainment makes another great blu ray presentation with "The Tunnel." A camera crew go into the subway tunnels in Australia and come upon what is basically a Morlock, called The Stalker in the credits. It takes a while to get to the scary stuff, but the wait is worth it. My only advice is that The Stalker is scary because you barely see it. If you watch the making of documentary, you might be disappointed seeing what it looks like with the lights on.

Boring movie.
I'm a horror movie fan and expected more from this movie because it has good reviews ... Bummer, I fell asleep three times trying to watch it... There's nothing scary or even interesting in the story, it's boring and the end is predictable from the start. 4 people go into some tunnels looking for a story, only one dies (his status is missing, not dead though). There's some weak uninteresting minster down there and there's no explanation as to why it is there or what it is or what it does... Looks just like a person anyway... if you want tunnel suspense there are other movies that are better. Not good but at least better than this one.

Amazing movie, shipped fast
The first time I saw this movie was probably about 10 years ago and I absolutely loved it. I couldn't find a good quality version of it until now. If you love found footage you will move this movie! I'm super excited to dig in to all of the special features. Only downside is that I live in the US and the dvd was manufactured for a different type of disk player and I can only change the location of my PS4 4 times so I'll have a limited amount of watches but I'm sti super happy with my purchase.

Blair Witch Style Works Well.
This is another movie seen through the eye of a camcorder. It takes place beneath the city of Sydney Australia as a news crew illegaly sneaks into tunnels to try to find evidence of the homeless living there. A city water project that doesn't seem to make much sense is on hold because of people disappearing within the tunnels and fear of killing homeless people who may or may not be living deep within the underground tunnels. The news team is believable and the setting is quite spooky. This is a movie that practices the less-is-more technique. It pays off pretty well when the group is being herded and chased by an unseen danger. No real explanation is ever given as to just what the menacing barely seen creatures are, but the direction and acting are enough to suspend any disbelief. Good script, tight direction and good story make this one worth watching.

this one is, different than others i've watched. it is really good and it actually for me had a strong set and story line for it compared to others and didn't look like some just thrown together thing. i would recommend for others who love these kind of movies. it did look like they took the time and thoight this through and pulled it off for me. what beheld on the tunnel i would not have guessed which is really good instead of that o yeah i already know what's guna happen

Worth buying it physically!
While this film's release was (and still is) done through the unconventional manner of torrent, being officially available on Pirate Bay, it's such a great found footage film that I couldn't resist owning it physically!A great theory I subscribe to for this film is that the creature is actually a Bunyip... Doesn't add to much to the film, but it's a nice little theory of you enjoy building lore!

One of the best found footage films.
Now yes I admit that the beginging of the film is a lot of talking and nothing going on to much. But it helps you better understand who, what, where, when, why all the craziness is going down in that dark, long tunnel. It's creepy as hell. And (for me at least) makes you wanna go cheap out some under ground tunnels. I recomend this film if you enjoy found footage, horrors and thrillers. I give it a 6.5 outta 10!

dvd the tunnel
