Dinothesaurus: Prehistoric Poems and Paintings Hardcover – Picture Book, March 10, 2009

This book is the use of poetry and original and engaging illustrations to invite kids into reading. My favorite poem is “Barosaurus,” which does a very good job of inviting the young reader to engage with imagination with the book. While not my favorite Florian book, it is, like the other books from this very talented author and illustrator, very much worth the read!

I am a teacher and I bought this book for my 2 1/2 yr old son because Mr Florian visited my school. He read some of his books and put on an amazing show for the students which made my purchase an easy one....My son loves this book and asks to read it all the time.

I was somewhat disappointed in the illustrations in this book. The poemsare excellent, but the watercolors look faded--and this is a new production.I think bright colors and distinct outlines are best for children and thisbook does NOT fulfil that qualitication. The stuff on dinosaurs is OK.

as an artist (myself) with a child who loves dinosaurs (and reading & rhymes), we both really enjoy this book. highly recommend.

Clever poems and illustrations. Poems based upon true facts about dinosaurs. There is a glossary in the back for more facts about each creature for which a poem was written. Kids love it. Makes poetry fun for grade school students.

These poems are the best. My son has most of them memorized. So fun!
