The flavor of this chili is spicy in just the right way.It is not too hot but very flavorful.No question if it will be " red or green " when it is this red because it can't be beat.

Living in a different state than I grew up in, it's really hard to get ingredients for a good red chile sauce. I purchased this powder--something I never would've done while in NM--as a desperate measure to be able to make good posole. It did exactly that! My family was shocked that it wasn't fresh red chile sauce or paste in the pot. I received multiple compliments from fellow New Mexicans, which are exactly the people who would know.

Be aware that it has a caution label on back to cook prior to consumption. I myself used it with some popcorn salt, lime powder, and this mild chili powder to make my own seasoning to personal taste, daughter loves it.

I used this for Taco Seasoning. And as I dont like many out there i like to make my own and used this in the ingredients and it was great tasting. No to spicy hot for me.

I have used the red and the green chili in different rubs for slow cooked meats, the green chili on roasted chicken and pork; the red on beef and pork. I made a pot of chili with the red and a pot of cheesy chicken chili soup with white beans and escarole with the green chili. The flavor is superb and the heat with the mild chili is pretty much missing. I like heat, my husband, a man from the southwest, has been forbidden from eating hot, spicy foods by his doctor. The mild chili powder has such rich chili flavor the heat wasn't missed, and can always be amped up at the table. I will purchase this product again.
