Alternate to regular barley.
These give a different taste sensation. I like alternating these with the regular ones when making turkey barley soup.

Did not work for my purpose, but not bad at all.
I bought this in the hope I could make granola with it, but the grains are not rolled flat enough for that purpose. Oats have a more broken texture than this pressed barley. I have no qualms with the quality or anything, just didn't work out for me and now I've got a lot of barley to use up eventually, haha.

Hard to find sometimes, and more expensive elsewhere.
My local organic place sells this in bulk for twice the price per pound. This bag cannot close once you open it, so be ready with a small canister or jar to keep it in.To make the pressed barley flakes into a hot cereal, use a 3-to-1 ratio of water to flakes, boil the water, add the barley, stir, reduce heat, and make like old fashioned oatmeal. Cook 5 -10 minutes..

Exactly what I was looking for
I've read that barley helps to lower cholesteol. To have to cook it is a bother. This product I simply add to my oatmeal. I was not able to find it anywhere locally, thus the online purchase.

Use in Homemade Granola
Easy to brown to use in homemade granola. We like barley and we like this type.

Good product to cook with rice...
We add this to rice when cooking. It is supposed to be good for your health.

Not for diabetics , possible inaccurate advertising
First , I ordered rolled barley and it arrived here labeled as " Pressed " barley ... the grains are thick , not thinly "rolled " at all .... they cooked up very soft and white ... whole grain barley is not supposed to cook up white , it's supposed to be more of a tan-brownish color .... white color means the fiber has been stripped out , so this is not a whole grain barley .... I would not recommend this for fellow diabetics ....I cooked and ate a half-portion , 1/4 cup ...within 30 minutes my blood sugar level spiked over 50 points and was continuing to rise so I had to abort the trial and take my diabetes medicine .... this barley didn't taste bad but it was not as advertised ..... if you are ok with the higher blood sugar rise of a pearl barley , you might be ok with this product .
