Excellent, simple HA serum
****I do not get free/discounted products to review; I review products because I choose to do so.****I bought one a year ago and I like it. Having made my own HA serum two months ago, I know that 1% still needs a lot of water; I cannot say if this is the high or low molecular type, or how much HA is in it. With high molecular weight HA, the serum is viscous at 100% strength -approximately 1% total weight-, much like thick aloe Vera gel sold in stores. The low molecular weight HA is supposedly thinner, but I have not tried LMW HA to compare yet. Low molecular weight supposedly absorbs into the skin better than HMW. Many websites will tell you the "proper" molecular weight for HA, but it's down to what you want. I believe both have pros and cons; since HMW is more viscous, it can give you a certain texture or look to the final product. Please research the differences if you would like to know more, but I can tell you that HMW HA is not bad. I put some in one of my homemade serum cleansers (oil free) that I rinse off; it does not leave a bad film on the skin, and it still hydrates the skin.Since I've "formulated" with HA, I can tell you more HA isn't always better. When used at .5% (HMW HA,) it left a thick polymer gel type coating on my skin. Since I do not use harsh cleansers on my face, I had to use a gentle clay mask to remove the coating of HA. This likely wouldn't be a problem with most face cleansers; I make my own gentle ones, and use a mask once a week though. (I did figure out how to use HMW HA since then, and it wasn't just the HA in this particular cream.)This product***I believe this is likely a lower molecular weight HA than what I have/made; it is thinner (not a bad thing!), glides over the skin very easily, keeps skin hydrated when used properly, and enough of it rinses off when cleansing. In other words, it does not leave a thick coating on the skin and it is breathable.***If you have dry skin,I would definitely recommend using an oil or a cream after applying this serum. The oil will help your skin from losing moisture. the HA will hydrate your face when you apply water, since its attracted to water. Without a barrier (oil is a good one,) or continuous water application, you may lose moisture in your skin; it is dependent on your skin's natural hydration levels and the humidity around you.Overall, this is an excellent product. Whether or not this is 1% HA, or if this is low molecular weight/high molecular weight, it is a great HA serum! It's very simple, non-comedogenic, a great price, and it works when used properly.I will most likely purchase another; I have not perfected my own HA serum just yet, and I know that this products works. Thanks!

Better than paying $$$ for beauty products mixed with it
It was the middle of a brutal winter in NYC, and my skin started drying out to the point of flaking, even in the middle of the day when I'm usually at my oiliest. I got a facial and consultation at Dermalogica, where the facialist told me I had extremely dehydrated skin, which perplexed me because I'd recently started using a night serum and a heavy night moisturizer, on top of judlcious use of my day moisturizer (Cerave). All of it has hyaluronic acid (HA), but apparently not enough. The facialist pushed me to buy the Dermalogica skin booster, which has a lot of HA, but it was $$$ so I took some samples and started researching beauty products with a higher concentrate of HA in the ingredients. Everything I found was super $$$ ($100+ for a few ounces!), so I decided to get a bottle of this stuff alone and add it to my existing products. Getting the dropper bottle made it easier to control the amount. I also started using it alone on my face after I wash - four large drops, every night and every morning. The instructions say to pat dry the face first, but it's better to let it air dry a bit and apply HA when the skin is still moist. I've noticed that when I apply it after the face is completely dry, the HA is not effective and will dry your skin even more. In the day I use it under my day moisturizer, and at night I use it under my night serum and night moisturizer when the heat is on full blast, or alone at other times. My face stays moisturized through the night and day when I do this, and I notice the bags under my eyes have lightened in color too. The only downside was it took some time for my skin (sensitive, and combination in T-zone) to adjust to it - at first I noticed my rosacea acting up and some bumps elsewhere, but after two weeks they went away.

This stuff works without being irritating.
I love this. I use it under my eyes and it has helped tremendously with those little wrinkles under there. My eyes are very very sensitive and will water if I use anything with too much in it. I tried some of the serums that were on sale on early prime days and they burned my eyes. I have no issues with this product and yet it makes my skin look younger. My only issue is the pump is a little wonky. It's squirts out more than necessary and is a bit messy.
