Stair Tread Staircase Step Treads, New Version Stainless Steel Measuring Tool Solid Stair Tread Gauge - desertcart.com Review: Durable and Well worth it! 10/10 - Initially got one for myself a few months back. Hesitated to write a review to give it some time as I broke in the trainer and got to see how it really performs. 4 months later this thing still flips smoothly, the action is quiet, and the quality is awesome. Overall Ive dropped it a few times, really put it through the ringer, and it still works just as well as the day I got it. Even came with a little sleeve to keep it in. Great value, awesome quality, and well worth the price! Beats slicing up your fingers and a great way to learn for beginners and just to use when you cant use the real thing. UPDATE: 6/2/20: Still works fantastic, the blade has loosened up a bit but the action is still smooth. Definitely Great quality and completely worth it! Review: Great trainer knife, especially for new slippers. - I've purchased other training balisongs in the past, and so far this one definitely feels the best. Very solid, has good weight and it flips smoothly. Doesn't squeak on the turns and broke in pretty quickly. I've dropped it quite a few times and I haven't noticed any damage. The shape of the "blade" is nice, it lets me visually recognize the "sharp side" and the bite handle, unlike some trainers that have uniform "blade" shapes. My only real complaints are 1: that the edges of the metal felt a bit sharp, but that's easy to fix with a little sanding, and 2: I'd have preferred bushings instead of pins for the handles but it isnt too bad how it is.

Heavy, but strong. A very nice trainer.
Used to own a real butterfly knife and wanted to get back into flipping again. This one is significantly heavier than I remember my cheap one being. It comes out of the box a bit stiff but loosens up almost right away. Comes with a really nice carrying pouch. Latch is a bit stiff, but again that's okay since I'd rather it be too stiff than too loose. The brushed metal edges on the insides of the handles are very rough and can still cut you if you drop it while flipping. Luckily, that's only happened to me once so far. It'll toughen up your hands real quick, though, due it the heaviness of the handles and the blade. Overall, it's a great product and I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Great knife!
I really enjoyed flipping this knife, and didn't see much downside to it. It starts out pretty tight, but just flip it for a day or 2 and it seems perfectly fine. Value for money was great, def worth 17 bucks. Nothing came broken, but after a month or 2 a screw came loose or something & the lock didn't work. (Expected for a $20 knife) Overall, very good beginner balisong, and if you are on a budget and just want to practice this is the way to go.

Seems like a good trainer, if I could use it...
It seems to be a great first trainer for sure. I'm brand new into the hobby and I liked the design of this one. Other reviews state that it's great! The only problem is I cant use it! The safe handle is way too stiff. I read some reviews saying that it comes stiff, but after a few minutes of usage, it gets looser. Well, my bite handle got loose and is just fine. But my safe handle is still way too stiff even after playing with it for an hour and applying lube to it. It affects my performance severely. I'm assuming the washers might be a bit too thick and need shaving, but because I can't unscrew it, I'm SOL. Need to buy a new one. I know this is pretty cheap and I can't expect too much, but out of the box this one is unusable. I get that things happen and I probably just got unlucky with a bad copy (which is why it's 3 stars and not 2, benefit of the doubt), but it's still very disappointing.

Well made!
I highly recommend this trainer knife! My 13 year old son received it as a Christmas gift and he likes it very much. It is very sturdy and well made as is has been dropped several times while my son was practicing and no damage has occurred. The design on the knife makes it “cool.” The parts move very smoothly when spinning and moving them. The trainer knife actually looks real. My son is very happy with it and claims it was one of his favorite gifts. I am impressed with the high quality of this product!

Amazing Quality!
I saw this and first i thought to my self, what are the chances this could be a good quality knife? I had tried so many and they were cheap and not usable. This one felt very comfortable to my hand and I knew it was the right beginner training knife. I has great weight to it, flips amazing once its broken in. Very very good quality 100% recommend! so happy with it.

Impressive and unexpected
When I first received this product, the box was heavier than I had anticipated. The steel and the black paint look good when paired together like this and are a great color choice. The spring latch was surprising, since I had not expected the latch to have a spring. It holds the handles together perfectly. The blade is safe and it's shape looks nice. The knife itself is a little stiff but after a few flips it began working normally. Great shape, great flipping, great color scheme, and a great product overall.
