Large, Easy to Fly Kites for The Beach, Backyard, Park!

The media could not be loaded. I LOVE THIS KITE!! It is so beautifully detailed with little teeth and claws, it even has big gold eyes! The first initial setup was a little awkward as the instructions are a little vague; it's only black and white tiny pictures. However, once I assembled one wing the other was very easy. The best part about this kite is that it folds up into a small flat space, maybe about two feet wide. When the kite is put together it is almost seven feet wide, so being able to store it so easily is a wonderful plus. Also, since the kite folds up, it is far easier to assemble it on the field. Just snap the wing connectors and you're flying! The reverse is also nice when you're finished flying. Snap the connectors and the kite stays grounded.Launching the kite was very easy, I needed no assistance. The wind took it instantly. It was very stable even in varying wind speeds and random gusts. I was able to keep it in the air the entire time and the landing was smooth and graceful. This is my new favorite kite!

Easy to assemble, very sturdy, eye catching bright colors, super long string with a handle to wind it up easier. Where has this Kite been all my life?! Swoon!! A quick note, we also bought the large Dragon style Kite, which of course was another huge hit, however you need A LOT of wind for the Dragon style, it's a really big Kite. Also, if you leave this Kite on the ground in your campsite, the squirrels will grab the tails and eat them and try to take them into their unground holes. We bought replacement tail string and the kite still flys but you should cut the tails to as close to the original size as possible. Making the tails longer will effect the kites ability to fly.

Awesome kite and looks great also. This kite is cool but like it says in the instructions it needs about 18-20mph winds for it to be lifted up. Otherwise it will come crashing down. Basically if you don't see the trees around you with its branches bending or you cant hear the wind, then it might not be windy enough to fly. Also be careful when assembling. The joints do look fragile but after locking them with the sleeve it strengthens the joints. If you can I'd sow the ends of where rods end in all side because they'll eventually start to tear and poke thru.

This kite is beautiful and easy to put together. It's a little awkward to store, but when it was flying it was a definite attention getter given its size and the brightness of its colors. My one complaint is the cheap plastic hook that attached the kite string to the kite. It's very cheap plastic and i'm afraid of it bending or breaking in even moderate wind.

I bought the Manta Ray kite because I thought it was cute for kids and I had a credit. Being a owner of many kites I knew it was overpriced. Anything this size printed with rather cheap sparing shouldn't be over $25. These are the type of kites you get at Costco or Sam's for under $15. It's the best of the ones offered here. Nice long tail. The cross-spar was broken and too long for the kite. Customer service was nice did replace the spar for free - so I upped the rating. The spar was still too long. I cut it to size and reinforced the tips. I don't understand the collapsible wing spars? The joints look very weak. I expect they will break and I'll replace them with normal length spars. Just another reason why it's over priced.

This was so fabulous I bought 2 of them! We bought one to put on top of our golf cart for Burning Man. Theme was Metamorphoses, so we had a caterpillar, a crysalis, and this kite adorning the top. I had to buy another one so I could fly it. Easy to assemble and really easy to fly. Looks beautiful on the ground and in the air. Love it!

We took this kite to a windy beach and it was difficult to get into the air. Once it finally started flying it took a nosedive, crashed, and one of the support pieces broke. I'm so very disappointed. Also, the streamers are made of trash bag material and the storage bag is just a clear cheap plastic bag, similar to the quality of a single use trash bag. We had another kite from a different company that flew just fine and survived a couple falls. This kite did look cool in the air for the few minutes it flew.

I love this kite. Doesn't take a lot of wind to get up into the wind. Attention getter
