entertaining, mysteries and murder and mayhem so good
Tiffany, what a great character, funny, friendly. She is happy with herself. Great insight when it comes to investigating. So far bating 100% in crime solving.

Cute read
3.5 stars for me. I found this to be yet another light read, which is exactly what I want from my reading this summer. It's a bit corny, a bit off-the-wall, and at times a bit over-the-top. But overall it works. I quite enjoy Nanna's character. She's a hoot.I did leave off 1.5 stars purely for editing (or lack thereof) in this book. It isn't terrible, but there was one big oopsie where the author switched up a character's name between Christine and then Carol and then back again. There are also a few other minor issues. Most, if not all, could have been avoided with a decent beta-reading team. Part of their job is to spot mistakes like changes in a character's name. That said, I will keep going in the series, because it is cute and I do love Nanna! However, if these mistakes continue on, I will likely end up stopping.

Stephanie Plum anyone?
The book is pretty formulaic and very similar to the Stephanie Plum series, but it was well done, well written, and enjoyable. So, girl in an iffy kind of job, doing private in investigation. One secret type guy who does some kind of security and whom seems to have some major chemistry with the main character. A match making mother, uninvolved but down to earth dad, goofy grandma...all she needs is a large dog and a goofy side kick. All the elements are there, it could be a Janet Evanovich book. However, it is well done. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed getting to know the characters. It was a little over the top, but not ridiculously so. The only criticism I have is that since this is my first book in this series (but book 2 in the series) I would have liked more information about Stone. I donβt really have a feel for who he is or what he does. A little more background on him would have made this a stand alone within the series.Overall, I would rate it 3.5 stars. It is not really a 4, which is my highest rating for most books (5 is outstanding and I rarely rate modern novels that highly). Would definitely read more by this author.Edit: After reading other comments I would like to add, I think this has been updated. I found no βoddβ words or British terminology. A couple typos but nothing significant.

Just enough fluff
The books are a fast entertaining read. They take your mind off of the days crap. And who doesn't like cupcakes.

3.5 stars
First of all I would like to say I like the Tiffany Black Mysteries- loved the first one and I did like this book. However, there were a few things that seemed like they'd changed between the first and second book, and to me it felt like some chunks were missing out of the story. First of all, in this book Stone and Tiffany are a lot closer than what they were at the end of the first book. When did that happen? Tiffany also seemed a little less nicer and was less likeable than she was in the first book- at times I found myself frowning at the pages and thinking 'wow, that's not nice'. In some instances she just comes off as rude, nasty and immature. The mystery element was also a bit of a let down. I kind of guessed who it was not far into the book, and when the time came that the killer was caught-and-found-out, it was so lacklustre and then it was just swept under the rug- and it was back to Tiffany/Jack and the painting. Also in the book toward the end she says she's 'tired of dating boring guys'. Huh? Who has she dated? At the beginning of the book it mentions that she went on a date with the police officer Nick from the end of the first book. She hasn't gone on an official date with anyone else- the only constant man in her life is Stone, and Jack is a new potential emerging love interest in the book. I'm not sure whether Winters finds writing romantic scenes difficult or is maybe just saving them for later in the series, but it seemed a few of these were lacking in this book. All in all, it was a good read but I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. Winters is a good writer and I will read the next book in the series, and I hope that the series will get better with each instalment.

Predictable But Entertaining.
This series follows the standard formula that most authors of this genre seem to favor at the moment. Not that anything is necessarily wrong with that. A lot of people want some predictability in what they read. So if you like humorous mysteries along the line of Janet Evanovich this will fill the bill.Tiffany is a casino dealer with aspirations of becoming a private eye. This is the second in the series. The books are clean and well written and do favor a humorous take on life in Vegas and features a sufficiently dysfunctional family as background to the main action.Ms. Winters has made some minor changes in changing the second male from a police detective to a playboy burglar. These are light easy reads and do not require you remember a lot of detail to either enjoy or to solve the mystery. Looks like number three is slated to come out soon. I enjoyed these enough that I will add to my reading list when it is available.

Green Eyes in Las Vegas
What a fun and exciting read! Tiffany is confronted by a man wearing a ski mask with green eyes dropping from the sky when walking home from work. She ends up working two PI cases at the same time. She is also being stalked by someone. Are they tied to one of the cases?

Funny Tiffany
Ms. Black's stories are just plain fun to read. She writes from the first person and makes it easy to identify with the protagonist. This particular story had lots of clues and switchbacks that kept surprising me. I found it hard to put the book down.
