EPS400C/B Slow Stick
Ah, the Slow Stick! This is THE classic R/C trainer, cheap, simple, and SLOOOW flying. How many people have learned R/C flying with this model-no one knows-but the number is HUGE! There are tons of builders tips and reviews of this model due to it's extreme popularity. It is stable and majestic in flight, easy to assemble, and if flown in calm wind days a real joy to see slowly circling the flying site. This is not the model for windy days or advanced aerobatics, however. The directions for this classic model are rather simple and clear but there is a ton of tips and hints on You Tube to watch if you wish. This model requires the purchase of a 6-7 cell NiCAD/NiMH battery, a 3 channel R/C radio with two servos/ speed control, and some epoxy glue to replace the rather weak cement included in the kit. This model has a more powerful EPS 400 ball bearing motor which is a modest upgrade from the plain bearing ferrite motor of the less expensive Slow Stick model.

Sloooooow Stick
This thing is CHEAP (meaning inexpensive) but really flies so pretty in the air. It seems to be fairly durable as it's hit the dirt (actually asphalt) several times while chasing a radio glitch. If I had it to do over again I would order the brushless motor version or the no motor version as I think my glitches are caused by the brushed motor arcing but it could also be a brownout from the brushless ESC that I purchased to control the motor. I have an Integy brushless motor and ESC made especially for the Slow Stick coming for it and that should clear up my problem. When I did get it to work correctly I loved how slow and gentle it flew around. It's kind of a nice break from my other faster R/C aircraft. I also bought it to be a primary trainer for one of my sons (33 yrs old, not a kid) and I think it will do well in that role because of how slow it is. If you buy it, look in the included manual as there is a page of updated instructions. I didn't see that page at first and wondered why I had a couple of parts that weren't being used regarding stiffening the wing and getting the proper dihedral for the wing. There are also several YouTube videos on how to build it although they all seem to vary a bit with the tail assembly. Anyways, it is easy to figure out.

THE best RC trainer made!
This is probably the best trainer for learning to fly RC aircraft! It is probably the most stable airplane for beginners if flown on calm to slightly breezy days. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is because the building manual is out of date, there are parts included in the kit that are not shown in the manual like the clear plastic part and tape that bel I no on the center section of the wing. Also I have built SEVERAL of these and have never been able to figure out which part is supposed to hold the tail wheel on, I j u st use the only part that fits on the preformed wire. But other than the build instructions this is the best and most cost effective way to learn to fly!
