Filicori Zecchini Whole Bean Coffee - Espresso Blend - 2.2lbs (1000g)

I have had several espresso machines, from an inexpensive delonghi, manual, and my new love, the Gaggia Brera. I can tell you that no matter how good the machine is, the beans are equally important. Good beans don't have to cost a fortune, I've even roasted my own. The Filcori Zecchini Whole bean espresso blend is a wonderful bean with a lovely crema. The Filcori espresso roast is a deep dark bean, but not bitter. There is a complexity of flavors, toasty, deep, and lovely. No burned or bitter taste here, and I drink my espresso straight out of the machine, no sugar, milk, just the espresso in it's unadorned beauty, so a good flavorful bean is especially important to me. Robust, and complex the filcori espresso blend is a great espresso.Do note that the size is 2.2 lbs, so it's a good value.

I make a latte every morning using a Jura machine. I expect a latte to be a blend of milk flavors and coffee flavors, using these beans the coffee flavor was completely lost. Initially I didn't change any of the settings on my machine, but to make the coffee stronger I decided to grind slightly finer to see if I could extract more flavor, not much luck. If your drink is a latte, don't buy this coffee, if you prefer straight, Italian roast espresso this might be just right for you. I have experience drinking Italian style espresso, (Torrefezione) I love the more complex, caramel flavors I've tasted from other brands of coffee. I wasn't looking for the over-roasted flavor of some of the big brands, but this blend is too wimpy to stand up to non-fat milk.

Usually I don't write reviews, I was so upset with this inferior coffee that I had to review it. Very disappointed, very weak and stale, roast date 11/2014 so not fresh, really bad bad coffee. A waist of $25, will see if can send it back and get refund, bean is NOT dark as mentioned in description by viewer. Description of what I selected and packaging are different, Thank you for spoiling 3 mornings trying to wake up to this bad coffee.

this coffee is the worst . STale , Stale, Stale*** no more online coffee for me . I guess i got lucky with the 1 bag of Lavazaa super crema , not the freshest but certainly not stale like my last 2 orders . I will continue to use my Local coffee Places which I have some really good ones near me Just tried to branch out which was a HUGE MISTAKE... the worse stale coffee ever ....do not waste money on this ...

These beans make a good slightly Acidic espresso with medium crema. The product info should include roasting date. These beans were stale, roasted about 5 months earlier.

I love this coffee. I am gluten intolerant and cannot have anything artificial. I had given up coffee until I stumbled onto this little cafe in New York. It is the only brand of coffee I will ever drink!
