Lots of Wonderful Product for a SUPER Price: GREAT FOR BAKING (Read for Matcha vs Sencha so you know what you're getting)
After reading some of the negative reviews, I'm wondering if anyone has ever really tried matcha in a true tea ceremony? It's something you need to really sip and it's not an everyday drink...and it takes TIME to prepare. You're not going to get that quality or quantity for the price of this green tea powder, so let's get that out of the way. Is this true matcha? No, it's probably more along the lines of sencha. It's advertised as "matcha" but unfortunately, branding something as "sencha" doesn't sell to an average customer...not a fan of the lack of transparency there, though, but I knew from the start what I was getting...true matcha in this quantity, as mentioned above, would be PRICEY. Is it drinkable straight? Yes, but it's quite bitter when compared to matcha...for me, that's fine. Now, I bought this mainly for cooking...to make green tea ice cream with my ice cream machine and to replicate the Starbuck's smoothie as well as other smoothies I've come across (because let's be honest...any smoothie or sweet that says it's made with "matcha" is most likely made with "sencha" because PRICE). I've had PERFECT luck with it. For baking, 100% I recommend it. And if you don't mind a green tea with a bit of a bitter taste, it's fine to drink straight...I might recommend adding a little milk.I also recommend storing this tightly sealed in the fridge after opening and it will last A LOT longer. For the price, you're getting a LOT of tasty, versatile product that's also fairly healthy. When I bought my bag, it came as shown so no problems here...I read some people got their's in an unmarked black bag...that's sketchy and I'd return that ASAP!

Great traditional taste green tea, but some may not like the strong taste
The matcha tea is great. Before you purchase this, there are couple of things you'll need to know. First is that traditional Japanese green tea has pretty strong taste and can be bitter to some. If you are used to drinking English style tea, or green tea like the ones from Lipton, which really doesn't taste like traditional Asian green tea, you may not ready for the taste. Second, match, which is power form is going to have stronger taste than the tea bag (sencha) style anyway. Because instead of getting the flavor out of the tea leaves, you are actual drinking the ground leaves. Also, you don't need a lot of powder, which is why, I think, some people do not like the taste. For tea bags, Kirkland Signature Japanese Green Tea is great. Now, regarding the brand, it's actually a well known brand in Taiwan. Don't hesitate if worry that this is not from Japan. Taiwan produces some of the finest tea in the world due to it's geology, weather and culture. You can do some research regarding competition tea in Taiwan and the cultural influences by Japan

As good as Japanese matcha but cheaper
Glad that this is available again. It is slightly cheaper than the Japanese version. We can't tell the difference between matcha from Taiwan and that from Japan. We drink it as a tea and use it for baking. Love the stuff.

Decent
The tea is ok, I haven't tried a lot of other matcha teas so I don't have a lot to compare it to, I can say that it tastes a little fishy. I was weirded out that it didn't come in it's original package as shown in the picture. No ingredients listed, only a resealable solid black bag (which broke so it doesn't reseal). All in all the tea seemed ok but I would've liked to have known if there was anything else mixed in with it. They sent a note for explanation saying that they were able to offer it so inexpensively because they bought it in bulk and repackaged it. I can say that since it's so strong, I only have to use a little bit so I'm sure it'll last a long time. I did like that the company sent samples of other teas. That was cool. They also sent recipes for the matcha tea which was convenient.

Very good for the price
I drink and enjoy a variety of Chinese green teas.I did not want to buy the more expensive brands of matcha tea until I was sure I liked it. I must have had better luck than some of the reviewers of this product. The powder I received is a bright green inside the bag. It does not smell or taste dirty. I add 1/2 teaspoon to my ginger tea and it tastes fine.Update: I bought a more expensive brand to compare taste and color. I believe this brand is much better. I tend to take my time drinking tea and this does not clump at the bottom of the cup.

Love It and I don't find it bitter
I drink a lot of this daily with a teaspoon mixed into a 16 oz mug of hot water. Give it a brisk stir and sit down to drink while relaxing after meals . I don't add milk or sugar to tea or coffee. I don't find it bitter and I wouldn't be able to afford a higher quality with the amount I consume. I've been buying this brand for years and enjoy it more than an bland green tea bag. I'm sure that ingesting the powdered tea leaves likely has health benefits as well...and maybe quantity makes up for what it might lack compared to a higher grade as far as health benefits. Also, I don't have a refined palate. But, I doubt those that drink those dessert drinks do either. I'd suggest to those that find it bitter - experiment and adjust the amount they add until they find the perfect ratio of tea to water.

Incredible! Mouth waters just writing review!
Sooooo so divine! Make your own smoothie with this product and because it is unsweetened and dairy free, those with sweetener and lactose intolerance can control what they add to it. Me myself: I add a heaping tablespoon of it along with sugar, milk, plain whole milk yogurt and ice for a sublime treat. You may like to add some fresh mango pieces too. I find it pairs well with mango. It will make a great boba tea smoothie if you get some tapioca pearls I have no doubt. It is nice and strong and mine seems to have a great shelf life as well (no preservatives listed.) Enjoy! I have zero regrets about this product, though you may check your local international or Asian grocer to avoid shipping costs...I was desperate because the market I go to told me it was backordered.
