Travel Size Nail Stregthener Cream, 0.5-Ounces Tub

Works great!

This cream works really well, and I suggest users buy the travel size to try first. The first two tubes were excellent, but the third was nearly empty - I hope the quality control improves. Pro tip: the more you use, the better and faster it works (big dab versus tiny dab to make it last longer). I'm confident enough in the cream's performance that I'll be buying the tub. It works quickly to repair splits and cracks, and makes the nails much stronger.

Travel size is perfect for most of us, because you only need the teeniest bit. And this stuff works. I've used it for at least thirty years. If I use it, my nail doesn't split. If I stop, it starts splitting again. Period. You do have to use it nightly for months at first as the damaged nail grows out. But for maintenance thereafter, a few times a week is enough for me. I buy these little tubes because the stuff in a jar dries out very quickly. Even a tube lasts me a couple of years. There's no funky smell, no perfume, and it's not greasy.

Not as good as original Barielle but still worked on dry cuticles

I am a long time user of Barielle nail products. The product works wonders, so I would give it 5 stars, except for the fact that the tube is ridiculously small for a ridiculously high price.

I’ve been using Barrielle Nail Strengthener cream for 6 weeks, and waited to write a review until I could reasonably assess its effectiveness. I have weak nails that split into layers with everyday household chores. I have working hands, involved with kids, dogs, horses, dishes, laundry, bathroom cleaning products and gardening. Although I wear rubber gloves for household chores, the nails on my thumbs, index fingers and middle fingers on both hands take the brunt of the work, and break easily. But if they don’t break, they split into layers, and the layers peel off, leaving very thin nail bases. The thin nail bases are very tender and hurt, but I still have to do all my regular activities, so my nails don’t get better. I’ve tried nail strengthening polishes that are applied everyday week after week. However, I haven’t found a polish that actually prevents the damage on my nails and using nail polish remover once a week to remove the polish severely exacerbates the weaknesses of my nails. The only upside is that my nails naturally grow quickly. Although my nails were quite damaged when I began using this, twice a day, everyday for 6 weeks, the first thing I noticed was that almost immediately the split layers of my nails seemed to seal together. They have stayed together and my nails did not continue to split as my damaged nails grew out. Although the new growth still seems to break easily, I expect it may take a full 3 months for the base to entirely grow out from the time I started using this cream. If my nails are substantially stronger with less breakage and no splitting after 3 months, I will update this review with those results. Bottom line - this is working the best of any product I have tried so far.

I first knew of this product in the 70's when I worked in a fine department store and it was sold in the cosmetics department and had a cult following. As a very young person I thought it was kind of absurd that people paid that much for something to rub on their nails and completely dismissed it. After exhausting everything from paint on nail strengtheners to oils to biotin and iron supplements I ordered the little tube and within a week was seeing improvement. For at least a year I had scrambled with peeling and perpendicular splitting. The splitting was maddening because it would get caught on fabrics causing pain. I would have to use a press on nail to keep from tearing my nail off the bed. Anyway, after about 6 weeks I have healthy growth and strong nails. I keep a tube at my desk and one by the bed. I use it two to three times a day. Will never be without this product.

Barielle used to be a good product for nails. years ago, I used to purchase Barielle and was very happy with it. now it chiped my nails and does not help your nail grow. the product is not worth the price.
