Good light
I really like this is a regular battery light that doesn’t need plugging in. It is very bright - great for winter night walking.

It Goes and Goes! 2 Yrs and 2 Months Old!
I've got a black, 4-yr-old Great Dane and come hell or high water, he needs his walk. Late hours at work means that we often don't get our 2-hr-walks started until evening. In the deep woods under a new moon, it's pitch-black. We can't see where we're going nor can others see us. A light was, and still is, a must.I tried, and quickly dispensed with, traditional LED flashlights. A flashlight is extra work for your hand. In the woods, sometimes you have to clear vines from a trail at night, occasionally you might need to wrestle a gator. Can you do that with a flashlight in one hand? No, and again NO!Being a thinker, a light bulb went off in my head, actually above it because it was a headlamp. A headlamp is better than a flashlight in the fact it frees up your hand, but worse because you'll blind whomever or whatever you're looking at. There's nothing more obnoxious than a hiker with a headlamp or bikelamp blinding you the entire time they're riding your direction. There's one other negative I associate with a headlamp and a flashlight. While they might help me observe my surroundings, I can't easily spot my dog, nor can others (he's black). I tried a blinking LED and while that made it easy to spot the dog, it was hell on the eyes. The designers of that object had a setting that allowed the user to change the collar from blinking to a slow color changing and it was while using that completely different collar that one night, while walking down the trail, I noticed I could see where I was walking solely from my dog's LED collar. It was then I asked the question, "Why hasn't someone invented a dog collar flashlight?" I went online and found a link for a company that made just such an object and then looked up the object on Amazon.com and decided to buy it.From day one, I have been very pleased. The light is bright and diffuse. You can change the angle of the light by swiveling the plastic piece attached to the light and collar and it stays in place. This collar is great because if my dog is wearing it, I don't need a light myself. It's great because it lights up the ground and doesn't blind my dog or other folks hiking past. By using rechargeable batteries, I have used this light over and over and over without any problems.I am getting a Giant Schnauzer puppy in a week and we'll be getting another PupLight collar. I have been satisfied with my purchase. Although I can't say for sure, I believe my dog likes it too because whenever I grab the collar, he wags his tail. That might have more to do with knowing that we're going into the forest, but the collar is comfortable for him and although dogs can see better than humans in the dark, on dark nights when the moon's not out, even a dog will bump into things. With the PupLight, the task of walking, observing, and in the instances where I'm near areas of traffic, being visible to cars has become easy. I know for sure they'll see us crossing the street. As a result I highly recommend this collar and I am basing my review from the long life, consistent brightness, and good design. It's a great deal.

Great for walking on dark evenings!
Works well for walking my pooch on those short winter days when it's dark by the time I get home. Light is bright and does stay out of the dog's eyes (although it shines directly into MY eyes when she looks up at me to bed for a treat.....) I use it on it's own, which means she has 3 collars one when she uses it - the normal collar with her tags, the harness she uses for walking, and the light. I decided to keep the light on it's own because it wouldn't work with her easy walk harness and I don't want to constantly take it on and off her normal collar before and after walks. The collar is light and thin enough that it hasn't been a problem. Battery life seems to be pretty good so far, I've used it about 10 or so times for 30 minutes or more a pop and it's going strong. Took off a star because of it's length - it hits the ground sometimes when she sniffs. If you had a really small dog that is low to the ground, I'm not sure how well it would work. But overall a worthwhile purchase!

Headlight for the dog
After years of using headlamps made for humans on my dog, I finally got her this one and it is configured perfectly for her. She is a farm dog, goes around with us to do night chores which include rounding up sheep and goats, moving them through gates, etc. The light hangs flat and isn't heavy so it doesn't bounce around a lot or hit her in the chin as she runs. She really loves wearing a light and purposely aims it to look for foxes and other nighttime varmints that may be lurking. The light is bright and the switch is easy to access. It has never turned off while she is running, which other lights have. It has never pulled off even when she's jumping around. My dog is fairly large, how the light hangs around her neck is perfect for a larger dog. I don't think the size and design of this light would work as well for small dogs; it might hang too low.

Not very bright and burns through batteries
I use this on my dog for a 30-40 minute nightly walk. The brightness is kind of weak and the beam doesn't travel very far.My fault for not paying attention when I bought this, but I would not have bought it knowing it wasn't rechargeable. I think I was looking at too many lights at the same time and forgot to verify that. After two weeks or so the light starts to dim. It still works well enough for cars and people to see us at night, but I hate that I'm going through so many AAA batteries.I started using one of my headlamps on the dog instead. It's a good solution but needs to be the kind that you can aim up or down - otherwise it just points at the ground. It's rechargeable and has a way more powerful beam. Also, at $16+ it's a little too pricey (I paid $5 less). There are a lot of this type of light on Amazon for less, many of which are rechargeable.

Very helpful for our senior dog to see at night.
Purchased for our senior dog who is having trouble with mobility and his sight. The light works great at night allowing him to see our steps and we can follow him easily in our yard.

Too heavy on my dog's collar
It takes three AAA batteries. It is heavy on my medium-size dog. The clasp is very hard brittle plastic and is very hard to put on the dog's collar. I had to be very careful so that the plastic doesn't crack and break.

Not what was ordered but..
I ordered the black pup light with the reflective collar. What I got was a red (non reflective) collar and red light. The light works as described, but I’m very disappointed I didn’t get what I actually paid for.
