I was so impressed with the Agostino Recca Anchovy Fillets - it arrived perfectly packed with great care. The fillets are smooth and mouth-watering, though slightly on the salty side (as good anchovies should be). The bones are soft enough to eat. I didn’t really notice any. I paired them with scrambled eggs, green onions, and sweet Thai basil for breakfast — absolutely divine! I also love that they come in a glass jar — it keeps them fresh and adds a premium touch. Super easy to open and tightly sealed in a sturdy glass jar. Best of all, there’s no fishy smell — just clean, nutrient rich, savory flavor and perfect texture. Highly recommend for anyone who loves quality anchovies!

I love these, and I love the crock. Easy to keep them covered in oil for freshness. They melt into my aglio olio w/alici wonderfully.

I wanted to like these anchovies so badly. The packaging is beautiful and the quality of the fish appears to be great. However, the first time I purchased them (January 2018) I let them sit on the shelf for about a month prior to using. When I went to finally open the jar, I noticed oil had leaked all over the shelf underneath the jar. I was too nervous to use them given they weren't properly sealed, so threw them out. I decided it was probably a fluke so ordered another jar in November of 2018. Same deal - went to open for the first time about a month after their arrival and again, oil all over the shelf where they had sat (and on the jar). I put the jar on a clean paper towel on the counter to make sure I wasn't crazy, and it continued to leak onto the paper towels for weeks. I finally threw them out, once again, never opened. I will consider ordering these in the tin, but given the high price tag for the jar, I would 100% NOT recommend buying.

What can be said about what seems so mundane? Yes they are just anchovies but they are more than that. These anchovies have been salted and preserved perfectly giving simple aglio e olio an elevated taste that is pure umami! Use them well and use them generously you will see they transcend simple title of just anchovies.

While I feel these Anchovies are expensive, they are imported, which makes them that way. I still think they are worth the money since the container is high-quality and reusable, there are a lot in the container, but most importantly, they are the best Anchovies that I have ever tasted. Will be ordering again!

My jar didnt leak (as others indicated) and was packaged nicely however for a quality filet in oil i was expecting at least an attempt at removing some of the bones. These were down right hairy i took a pic of just some of the ones from one i put to the side. If you are serving some on top of your pasta you dont want them to look like the cat coughed it up. Taste wise they were ok
