Nothing new and very fringe focussed
This book abandons Qur’an at its core. Even if you’re not a strong Muslim with Qur’an as your worldview, it offers little except encouragement toward reckless abandonment of faith over ones desires which is what many of the fringe groups described in this book pursue. It’s also lacking in any purpose and point as an offering on the British Muslim landscape by being completely lacking in Qur’anic centrality. Very easy to read partly because it’s also so shallow.

First book about Muslims I’ve actually read!
Excellent book. I have always avoided literature you find in bookstores or libraries about muslims but this book is amazing.

A Clear, Enthralling Perspective
Kesvani takes the reader to all sorts of corners of the British Muslim online world and does so at such a level, even an outsider will get a clear perspective. He regards every single one of the subjects as human, a rare occurrence with the high levels of polarization commonly seen today. Kesvani is as good at finding interesting subjects, going to the unexpected corners, and writing well as a journalist, and he certainly does the same in this book. It is a must for understanding the modern Muslim world and readers will not be disappointed with the diversity of topics.
