Simple to Use
This converter is simple in design and easy to use. I have successfully used it to connect an old GameCube system to an HD monitor. This device will also work with the original Xbox, Sega Dreamcast, old VCR players, and anything else that uses RCA cables. This device has two options: 720p and 1080p. When I used the GameCube with my HD monitor, I noticed there was a slight but annoying lag when I had the option set to 1080p. This is probably due to the combination of two factors: 1080p is a higher resolution than 720p, which may make the device take slightly more time to process, and I was using it on a HD monitor, not an HD television. However, when I set the option to 720p, everything worked fine. The lag does not matter at all, however, when connecting to a device that does not require constant input, such as an old VCR player. The device is powered by a micro USB cable, which is provided with the package. To power the device, simply plug the micro USB end into the device, and the other end into a USB port or wall adapter. Before purchasing, you should know that this device does not improve the quality of the video or audio, it only converts the format from analog to digital to allow you to use it on newer machines. The picture and quality should look exactly the same as it did on older TVs.Overall, I would recommend this device to anyone who is looking for an easy way to use older game systems on newer displays.

Old Red-White-Yellow Analog Signal Converted to HDMI Digital Signal in a Minute!!
I bought this Vizio brand flat screen Smart TV that is great. However, going with the latest technology they had more HDMI connection slots in the back than old analog "jacks". After using the traditional jacks, I still had a DVD Player, a VCR, and a Nintendo Wii console that all had Red-White/Gray-Yellow video output jacks that needed to work somehow. Well, this little box did it for me; it arrived on time, worked when I plugged it into a wall outlet and connected the Red-White-Yellow jacks into the "Input" slots and plugged the HDMI end to the "output" slow and then onto one of the empty HDMI slots in the back of the Vizio Smart TV. VoilĂ ! I had the Harry Potter DVD showing on the DVD player for my daughter or when I unplugged the DVD jacks and plug in the VHS Tape Player jacks, the Wizard of Oz on the old tape was showing in great detail for my son or more importantly, when I plugged in the jacks for the Wii Console, my golf game was on the Pebble Beach where I still can't hit any good! In short, I say it is a great product for the price and I say it is great for rendering that trip to local Radio Shack for several cables/adapters that may or may not work unnecessary. This little box solved it for me. I now think that I may buy two more to avoid switching the jacks between 3 different legacy players I have!!

it's ok but...
I bought this RCA to HDMI converter to use with an VCR DVD combo player. It works for the price but some major draw backs.Draw backs1. poor color2. blue background when you have no video source3. Power source4. video switch not friendly5. Pixel video1. Color - If you are inspecting HD video quality from your DVDs or gaming system think again. The color stinks. The output of the DVD player has better color on the RCA jacks than the converted video. The blue screen that the unit puts out is very good than the source video.2. Blue background - Ya it is nice to know that the unit is turned and working. But the annoying thing is that I had to do a lot of trouble shooting. I could not figure out if it was the TV set putting that on the screen or if it was the converter. Also the DVD VCR combo puts out a blue video while its on VCR mode. I had to plug in my HD mini camera RCA to do the final test. I had to make some other adjustments to my setup to make it work. This would not have been so hard if the video out was black to where the TV says NO signal.3. Power source - No AC adapter to USB. I had to use my USB phone charger to power it on. If you want to use this converter with your entertainment system you must buy some power adapter. But if you wand yo use your laptop with your entertainment system than just plug it in to a port. BUT wait all new laptops have HDMI already built in. Even my desktop has HDMI out. This link will take you to to the power adapter that I have to make it work on AC Motorola USB Wall Charger with Micro USB Data Cable - Bulk Packaging (Black)4. video switch not friendly - Do to the blue screen that the converter puts out and you have a HDMI video switch that sets the input by video signal. The converter continually runs so if you put the converter lets say input four (4) the switch will no longer switch between inputs 1,2,3. If you do buy it I suggest you plug it into the first input on your switch.5. Pixel video - In the past I have recorded movies off the network TV stations on the HD antenna. A lot of my family's favorite videos have pixels and very bad audio. So I have replaced my poor recordings with good quality DVDs This converter makes the DVDs video have pixels just like the TV movies didConclusion - I am not sure if I am going to keep it. I don't think I could watch my DVDs and video tapes in a lower quality for long. If it was temporary yes I could but I am installing it for Permanent use.

I use it to connect my American (NTSC) Super Nintendo to my new Sharp 42 inch HD TV ...
I understand the product is called Mini but the way it's written made me think it was was a AV to Mini HDMI converter not an AV to HDMI and I almost cancelled my order due to this! Besides the confusing labeling in the description however I have no problem with this product. I use it to connect my American (NTSC) Super Nintendo to my new Sharp 42 inch HD TV and it worked like a charm. Because of the screen size it did look a bit stretched out and unfortunately my tv does not have an aspect ratio setting but that is not the fault of this device. Even though the pixels were a bit stretched, my snes never looked better. I noticed more textures and better pixel clarity than i have ever seen from my retro console. I also lowered the sharpness settings on my tv to help out with the stretched image. Had i had a smaller tv screen or more display options, i'm sure the picture quality would be amazing! There was zero input lag, however when i turned on the "motion enhancement," settings i did get a bit of input lag so i turned this feature on my TV off. So far I have only used the Mini (AV to HDMI) in 1080p mode and not sure how video looks in 720p.
